I will vote for any canidate that proposes this. If for not any other reason than to just make them stop with these commercials.

But I seriously wouldn't mind seeing some reverse legislation done that results in increased production of more petro vehicles and a slow down in EVs.

We need to push back on the claim that EVs are not bad for the environment, and in reality it is quite the opposite.

No what should be done is the government gets out the way and lets the free market do its thing. If a person wants an EV than buy one and if someone wants a diesel truck than let them buy it. We need less government intervention not more and to be honest some of you are starting to sound alot like the left.

I wish we could just live in some laissez-faire utopia land. Unfortunately that's not the way the left rolls.

So if we don't hit back just as hard when we have power, the left and the enviro whackos are still winning the long game, as they will keep going all in whenever they get the ball back.

So if they want to ban all petro cars and push EVs, fine. Then when we get power back, we ban their ugly arse EVs no one wants, and bring back American made combustion power! F*ck em!

No.

If a Republican POTUS attempted that kind of central power grab, he/she would be a Democrat.

No problem with the technology though supply chains take advantage of effectively slave labor. Really putting it out on the line here but we should be above that in any supply chain not just EVs.

I do think the benefits of EVs are grossly overstated and there needs to be truthful guidance on net benefits (if any) to environment.

There was a time in our country where this sort of thinking was possible. But that was back when the demographics were quite a bit different (specifically the voting electorate), and we were actually a God-fearing, moral, Christian people.

But these days, it is just as much a fantasy land utopia as the left with all their pie in the sky dreams of a socialist utopia.

But keep jerking off to those Cato white papers and believing this is possible.

The name of the game now, is to get power, and then use that power to crush your enemies and reward your supporters as much as possible.

I'd be ok with banning all government subsidies for EVs.

No.

I think some situations they are fine. My problem is pretending you are saving the planet having one.

But I’ve been looking at some of the electric motorcycles.

EV’s rely on slave labor so morally it’s nothing like banning cars.

I'm going to halt government subsidies of EVs and green energy. It's all a fraud. And I'm going to open up the energy sector - DRILL.BABY.DRILL.

I won't seek to ban EVs.

How about just not banning OR mandating anything, and just letting the market work all of this out by itself? It’s the agenda stuff that drives me up the wall, and in this case, the agenda to jamb EVs down the public’s throat without an infrastructure in place to support it, and this in spite of the fact that you’re not saving the planet by EVs when you are still using fossil fuels to attain the electricity, still have to mine natural resources from the earth for the batteries, and you still have to find a way of disposal for all of those old batteries and their hazardous materials.

Regardless, If there’s a big enough desire for it in the marketplace, then it will happen, and the infrastructure will pop up in support of it, and if not, then it won’t. At this point however, all of this rush toward EVs is quite a bit premature on a grand scale IMO as there simply isn’t enough range for people who actually put miles on their vehicles for work and travel, and certainly not for getting goods and services to people. If Sally wants an EV to feel good about herself as she puts 10-20 miles a day back and forth to work every day, and she has the wherewithal to afford it, charge it, and the like, then let Sally knock herself out. Otherwise, don’t make everyone have to live like Sally and perhaps take a mortgage out to be able to afford an EV, as if we are some bee colony who lives to serve the queen bee.

I would just say, because I love my EV, that I lost it in a boating accident.

Seriously, if republicans were in a position with enough power to do this, they would be much better off using that power for useful things: dismantling the structures that allow this kind of authoritarian overreach in the first place, like burning agencies to the ground, limiting executive order authority, banning bureaucrats from issuing law, etc.
