Has there been many (any) incidents of male Uber drivers raping or SA-ing female passengers?

I addressed this earlier.

The vast, vast majority of "sexual assaults" reported were non-physical "assaults" like staring. Of the remainder, the majority of those were guys pretending to be the Uber driver, not actual Uber drivers.

Because again, raping a fare as an Uber driver is about the dumbest thing you can do. You've left behind a record of being alone with the person and a timeline of contact. It's about one step removed from arranging to meet someone at the police station and trying to rape her in the lobby. You are guaranteeing being caught.

Now, none of that precludes Uber making the policy. Women in America have been conditioned by feminism to be completely paranoid regarding men (remember the, "Would you rather be in the woods with a bear or a strange man?" question in which the majority of female respondents answered the bear?)

It's the same thing as the gym controversy where women obviously intentionally dress to be noticed and then complain about being "stared at," even when video evidence shows that no one was staring at them.

Uber's just making a smart business decision here. This is not about rape.

Well said, again.

I'll just add, when a woman is in public then no matter what she is wearing or not wearing it is perfectly legal for a heterosexual man to look at her even if she feels uncomfortable having him look at her.

If a woman doesn't like it then she can wear a burka when she is in public.

That's an awful lot of words just to rationalize you are in favor of segregation.

Grown men are just as capable as grown women of taking care of young children and teaching kindergarten.

I think they will be sued.

Maybe but 1) all their drivers sign into private arbitration which is a pain in the arse 2) I bet the driver selection system is set up specifically so that it is all up to the individual's choice on whether to accept the service provider (driver). Anti discrimination laws generally don't require an individuals to work with a service provider they do not feel safe with. A woman can most definitely require that they only have a female OBGYN and the hospital is not getting sued. Get's a little dicey in possibly an ER setting when a woman demands they only be tended to by a female physician but that is not what the Uber situation is.

Men need a woman to take care of their young children in day care and teach kindergarten like a fish needs a bicycle.

Any service which requires looking at a woman's private parts is a no brainer.

We are talking about a man the woman doesn't know driving her somewhere in an Uber car.

I'm sure this whole situation has already been looked at with caregiving businesses that set up houses with housekeepers, nannies, nurses or the sort (like care.com). They allow for you to state your preference for females for even dog walkers or tutors for your kids. Not exactly OBGYN level stuff but they I don't see any discrimination lawsuits for them. Like uber does, they just put the female at the top of the list and does not compel you to take a male if they run out of females options.

That isn’t who drives uber anymore. Your wife and daughter and granddaughters are being driven (if they take uber) by foreigners that our own government likely did not screen. Why are you so hellbent on these “young men” being able to drive women around?

That means Uber is allowing the men who drive Ubers to be discriminated against by women just because they are men.

I think Uber should be sued for allowing this discrimination against men to occur.

What do you think?

I think people who are purchasing a service should be able to pick who they want providing said service. Especially, like someone said, in a captive situation.

This is a situation about safety, or at least hoping to provide better safety for their customers. Anyone suing Uber over this should be ruled against AND be forced to reimburse Uber on any legal fees spent defending itself.

Women doing things for and with woman only.

Men doing things for and with men only.

Homosexuals doing things for and with homosexuals only.

Blacks doing things for and with Blacks only.

Asians doing things for and with Asians only.

American Indians (I don't call them Native Americans) doing things for and with American Indians only.

La Raza doing things for and with La Raza only.

Etc.

That's just a ruse. It has nothing to do with safety. It has to do with catering to women's paranoia that every man would rape them if the man had the opportunity.

Women, don't flatter yourself.

If they are legally in the country and have green cards then they have just as much right to earn an honest living as everyone else who is a U.S. citizen or who is legally in the country and has a green card.

That's the American way!!!

You are dense, old man. No one is banning male drivers from the app. No one is banning male drivers from driving women. Uber is providing women the choice to pick female drivers only out of the pool of contractors driving for uber.

I'm certain they all do it and it may be legal but preference can still be discrimination.

If I prefer a nanny who is not black taking care of my children isn't it discrimination based on the color of the nanny's skin?

I'm smarter than you look, junior.

Male drivers are being denied access to a large portion of the customers who need an Uber ride which means they are denied access to the opportunity to make money from the same number of people who need an Uber ride as the women Uber drivers have access to.
