ask the President

the left has made everything...EVERYTHING...political, and then when we respond, we are told we make everything political.

I am always floored by the number of Americans (here, women) who cannot grasp that for a business (here, a basketball team), the expenditures (here, the salaries) cannot .the revenues of the business.

Clark is a great female basketball player. No one contends otherwise. But if her presence only puts butts in the seats equal to (for example) $80k per year, the business CANNOT pay her (for example) $2mm per year. Bankrupt before the end of the season.

Because many of the women outraged are calling for Congress to step in and do something about the disparity like they did for Soccer a couple of years back - that's why I put it in a Poli thread baw. Damn man, you connect the dots about as quickly as these aforementioned suburban white women.

Women only care about wealthy/powerful men. Their entire "equality" agenda is based on the 0.5% of men and not the 99.5% that are far more realistic.

it's the end result of decades worth of Marxist propaganda and brainwashing. people genuinely do not understand the basic concepts of why the WNBA actually loses money while the NBA makes millions and millions. they are so brainwashed with the oppressor / oppressed dialectic that the only logical explanation to them is that men are deliberately shortchanging women for their labor, and there is no consideration given to the fact that their labor has essentially no monetary value.

None of those women watch games, go to games, buy merchandise or can name another player in the WNBA besides Clark.

How many of them will start regularly watching the WNBA or buy tickets and merchandise?

If not, then they're hypocrites.

Joe Biden is an idiot.

And women need to watch women's sports if they want them to make more money.

I think that the theory, such as it is, seems to be that men are sexist for choosing to watch the NBA and not the WNBA

Since I don't watch either of them, I'm not sure where I fit in that analysis.

"probably"?
"might not"?

My brother in Christ, she's a phenomenal player, but she plays against women. She's smaller, weaker, and slower than most male high school players.

The WNBA is projected to bring in a 200 million profit this year, the NBA is bringing in 10 billion. The NBA have been sustaining the WNBA for years at around 15 million per year to keep the league afloat. How can anyone expect the salaries to be equal.

Well as some have said that she would have been better off staying at Iowa and collecting much bigger NIL money.

Right, but there are more women in the U.S. than men. It's a problem that women could solve on their own if they wanted.

Women only support stuff thats popular. Theyre waiting on men to make the WNBA popular so its hip for them to go.

Typical female bullshite.

Hank

I dont think that is the issue with Clark. For her base salary, she is hamstrung by the current CBA. Her ability to put asses in seats and eyeballs to screen is pretty established. Her last three games shattered attendance records.

There was a legitimate concern that the popularity increase was due to it being the college game, but her WNBA draft drew 3.09 MM viewers which is way more than last year or the record viewership ( the Taurus draft). She is likely to earn her employer more than her salary ESPN
