Woman jailed for posting school fight on FB - Covington boys Atty (Lin Wood) may take case

There are social media rumors that L. Lin Wood (attorney for Covington, Kentucky MAGA hat boys) may represent the young woman jailed for posting the school fight video. Don't know if that is true, but Wood's law office is in Atlanta. Link to Lin Wood's website - LINK
Even if another lawyer has stepped in, Wood could still help.

Law does not apply to woman arrested - per article:
quote:
However, the law, introduced in 2008, only applies to "a person who is either a principal or accessory to a crime," neither which applies to her.
It appears as if the Adkins-Barras may have been critical of police and school administrators in her Facebook post, which is likely the real reason she was arrested because "her friends said she was concerned about what was going on at her school and was questioning the response from officials," according to Heavy.
quote:
She was arrested earlier today. She remains in jail without a bond at this time.
LINK
Looks like "political correctness" has gone off the deep end yet again. Hope she sues the dog crap out of the school and the Scott P.D.
The fight [violent bullying] video she posted is here:
LINK
REPORTS ARE COMING OUT THAT SHE WAS ABOUT TO SUE THE COUNTY JAIL FOR INFLICTING BRAIN DAMAGE ON HER HUSBAND - AND THAT HE REMAINS HOSPITALIZED

Married at 17. What's the big deal?

I’m praying you’re kidding

Stupid arrest. The dept. will eventually pay her.

My sister was married at 17. Childhood sweethearts. Husband is an anesthesiologist. She's an RN. Kids are all professionals.
Again, what's the big deal?

A lot. One anecdotal story doesn’t mean it’s a trend that should happen

quote:And one bigoted comment from you doesn't mean it should not. Some couples are ready for marriage at 17 & 18, and some aren't ready at 37 or 38.

Their choice. Not your's.

Look at it another way. Any obligation she has to pay tuition and support could end before she is 39. Let that sink in.

quote:I skimmed through it. Mostly ridiculed the young woman. And didn't include the article that clearly shows that this looks to be a false arrest.

This is a Freedom of Speech issue, IMO. And well deserves space on the Political threads.

Did you get to the end of the thread where everyone was saying the police overreacted and are going to get sued into oblivion?

This is a serious political issue regarding the jailing of a young Louisiana woman for exercising her constitutional right to free speech.

She deserves better. She stood up for a small kid getting pummeled by a big bully. Got tossed in jail for it. This is becoming a national news story. Not merely a frivolous OT post.

Her “concern” is not authentic.
