If we take it, Trump needs to force a name trade with Iceland. It makes no sense that Greenland is under a permanent ice sheet over 80% of its geography. Iceland isn’t very icy so we should definitely trade.

It is only a matter of time with Europe getting weaker that China or Russia claims that sucker. So, it if far better for human life and capital if we make them an offer they can't refuse today. Trump isn't gonna invade, but he is going to turn the screws until they give him what he wants, which is likely a lot less than he is saying.
