Will there ever be another white mayor of Baton Rouge?

It’s certainly a mathematical possibility. The white population of EBR Parish is still a majority. One reason I support St. George honestly, because I hope it would attract more moderate Dems and conservatives back into the Parish.
I mean as much as I can’t stand her, Broome isn’t a Chokwe Lumumba or some sort of self proclaimed revolutionary. And I believe the right Republican candidate could cross party lines and reel back the white progressive and conservative Dem votes.
You still have a majority Republican vote on the metro council and at least one non-retard Dem in Tara Wicker. We are still a vastly more conservative Parish than people give credit.

Baton Rouge is beginning its descent, transforming into Jackson, MS. The future is not bright.

The overwhelming majority of BRPD I see in court are white. It’s not even close.

1. EBRP is NOT majority white. In the last census estimate, we were 46% white, 44% black, and Latinos/Asians for the rest.
2. Lotta white and black and Asian folks are buying new homes all over the parish. And new homes are being built quickly in the parish. EBRP is not on the decline at all.
3. Repubs could elect a Mayor-President IF they would run someone even competent. Brodie is, and was, a moron with only marginal intelligence or competency.

Hell, they'll be lucky to have a functioning government in 15 years
Of all the replies, I had to respond to this one. I listened to a metro council meeting the other night, and my god was that the worst display of governance I’ve ever heard.
Let’s start with something basic to running a board or council - parliamentary procedure. Not only did most of them not have a working knowledge of it, but I’m fairly certain that by the end of the meeting they had actually voted on a different motion than they were discussing.
That was notwithstanding the grandstanding and obvious racial overtures of some members.
This city has some major issues.

I wish I could say yes.
Unfortunately, blacks are forced to vote Dem. They can't help it, their Democratic massa tells them what to do.

Are you kidding me? It's a total get-toe. A place to visit for a ball game and get the freak out of dodge before dark.

I find that hard to believe. At best, when I see them around town it’s 50/50

What would the geographical percentage of safe places to go be? Say you wanted to go to a convenience store at 10 pm. Could you do that, without worry, in 50% of the city? 30%?
