Trump hurt their little feelings and touched a sore spot about that 51st state thing he poked Fidel Trudeau with.

I'm really surprised it hasn't been a bigger topic here.
Its been discussed here a lot. Sorry you missed it. As to the op...
All the advantages are on the US side. We wait and need not do anything.

The "Elbows Up" thing interested me though. I hadn't even heard the term. until my friend told me about some people mentioned Elbows Up to him while in Canada.
That means lift your elbows up and knock the shite out of your hockey opponent. Any country and citizenry that engages in the rhetoric they use doesn't belong in our country. Go winter in Europe or with the cartels in Mexico.

Apparently it went over your head. Sad!
Look, we don't like Canadians. That's all.

They really can't. The scale of that operation would exceed anything the Chinese military has ever done. And generally, the Chinese have far more to worry about in their own region before they could even think about operating elsewhere.
Canadians are arseholes now. It's okay to not like them. Maybe the use of despise would be a little strong.

Lots of Canadians are far left. The labour Party is almost straight up communist as proven when they went after the truckers during COVID.
Agreed, but what makes leftists.
Easy times.
If we bring their economy down, those unproductive leftists will feel the pain first.

Then spent some time reading r/Canada which convinced me half the pop is Maoist in belief and just as insane. I no longer, with the exception of the prairie provinces, give 2 s***s about that nation. Given how much they have vilified the US, we might as well play the part they have pushed us too.
Yup totally love our Canadan truckers and prairie folk.

It's not about trade. Canada's grand poobah is a globalist banker, involved for years in stealing America's money. He will swing before it is over.
We can use Canada's oil from ft. Mcmurray. we can get it from elsewhere if necessary.
Canada having to provide for their own defense will force them to cut back on their plethora of social programs. This will piss them right off. The government bullied the truckers for protesting. They will not try to bully a whole population that is pissed because their 40 hour per week childcare is no longer free. They pay well over $4/gallon for gas, because it is taxed to cover social programs. There is a 12-15% sales tax, depending on the province.
They are tax poor, but let their services provided go down and their other bills go up. carney will be gone. The US is after him anyway.

Canada is angry that the US taxpayer is no longer subsidizing their lifestyle.
How is American citizens paying tariffs on Canadian imports "no longer subsidizing their lifestyle?"
Because we'll buy fewer Canadian products? I guess we'll buy less maple syrup, but we'll keep buying aluminum and oil and vehicles and turbines and engines and construction equipment. We'll just pay more for them.
No, I think Canada is Big Heap Mad because while the, "We're going to impose massive tariffs on you because you won't stop fentanyl from flowing across the border" is a loophole for the vast majority of the countries we're using it on right now, it's actually true of Canada.
They have always used real estate to launder money, they have fentanyl super-labs in Canada, and I think we're hitting them in a really soft spot.
Take a look: Canada's Money Laundering

As much as Canada caused this
FIFY
Hopefully escalate, they are cheap bastards who have built their entire country around piggybacking off the US
They agreed to spend 2% on defense in 2006. They have spent about 1.2% a year since. We subsidize what they do not spend.
They are importing millions of people from regions that have no business being on the North American continent.
They treat our businesses unfairly. Canada only started cracking down on Chinese steel/aluminum when it was clear Trump was going to be back in office. For years, they would import it and pass it onto us so that Chinese steel/aluminum wouldn't end up getting hit with the tariffs we had in place on them - tariffs that even Biden decided to keep in place from Trump's 1st admin by the way. They also subsidize select industries to have an unfair advantage over American companies that do not benefit from effective state sponsorship.
Canadians might be the faggiest people on the planet, they dont have a culture outside of hockey. No different than Minnesota, which is the gayest state in the US. In Canada they have half the country speaking a different language than the other, and thats before you even bring in the jeets, chinese, nigerians and so on they are importing in bulk

Frick Canada. The only reason they can afford all of their social benefits is because of America.

Canadian tourism being down at least 50% and really hurting tourism in the state..
As such it's less than 2% of all tourism in Florida.

You do realize CANADA started the trade war.
USMCA is a trade agreement with Mexico- Canada - USA. USMCA covers 90% of trade, tariff free.
Canada chose to TARIFF items covered under the USMCA, so Trump retaliated with a 35% reciprocal tariff & a said F-off!

Why do you think Trump caused this?
Canadians have not been liked by Americans for many years before Trump took office.

That's about how I am for the most part. I'm in the Tampa area though. Honestly tourism here was off this summer, but I think it was just off in general. I still felt like I saw plenty of Canadians on the beach.
If you’d been in Florida for any amount of time you would know that the Canadians come in the winter, not the summer.
