Has he actually taken any positions on these national issues?
For those of you on team BDR have you considered these foreign policy positions?
You shouldn't blindly support anyone, DJT included- that disincentivizes them from actually following through

I promise you that FL will not send weapons to Ukraine.

Why would he? He's not running for President yet.
He's the Governor of Florida, and as such those issues aren't relevant.
My guess is based on his demeanor, mindset, and past experience, he would not want to fund Ukraine nor be involved in Middle East Wars, however he would want to increase funding to the military a good bit.

Russians don't understand how the US government is set up. This is a just registered new poster asking whether Desantis will try to cut off aid to Ukraine. It's obvious this is either a troll or someone who is incredibly ignorant of American politics.

Florida citizens aren't affected by these things??

We don’t know.
He’s being bankrolled by the same ones whom support such matters.

Nah I think it’s strange to anoint someone when you don’t know their policies.
That’s what democrats do.
We don’t even have to talk about Ukraine since you hold it so dear.
What’s his stance on the Middle East? Israel?

Yeah.. This is up there with an progs fretting over Sasse as UF Pres and his anti abortion stance and "homophobia"
I'm like... He's Pres of a university... What's he gonna do? Ban abortions on campus and send gay students to shock therapy?

It is not within his purview. He has no control over those things as Governor of Florida.
Those are Federal issues. He is not a part of the Federal Government, nor is he running for any office in the Federal Government.
I expect if he decides to run, he will make his thoughts on those issues known and you can then judge accordingly.

We are past the point of willful naivete.

The deep state will tell him to fund Ukraine and Middle East wars and he will probably acquiesce to their demands.
He doesn’t come across to me as one that would take on the Pentagon and our spooks.

What?
He is not running for Federal Office? Why would he make his positions known on any of this.
Desantis has proven to be an effective executive and is an ACTUAL Conservative in practice.
If he runs, you'll know his position on the issues.

I would never support a politician that is so weak that he "commits" to something because someone asked him to. He may say "I oppose the war and will use any means necessary to find a negotiated solution". While that sounds so non-commital - it's also common sense. He knows the direction he "wants" to go, but does not have all the facts. And with a response like that, all options are still available to him to find the best resolution.
If he becomes President, then he'll be briefed, have a better understanding of the issue - then make a decision. It's like asking a politician to commit to support the results of the election before it takes place - even though no one knows how much cheating will take place and be uncovered.
It's a stupid ask, and it's even more stupid to actually commit.
