re: Why would Putin let North Korean troops fight in Ukraine

Let me say this since this thread has been locked:

I was opposed to this war and escalation all the way. It has cost me a lot of money and would have never happened under a Trump administration.

When we became involved I had to shut up and sit back and support the Troops and advisors we supposedly have over there.

Over 600k have been killed over nothing.

Brackets are not the way educated people converse. Point (A)...

It's a very risky move that opens the door for others to do the same thing like the Baltic states, or Poland.

I asked you for evidence and you cited an article. The article you shared provided no evidence.

Do you consider an article stating: "an unnamed US official and and an unnamed Ukrainian official said...." as evidence that North koreans are fighting in Ukraine or Kursk?

If so, why?

No bracketing. Explain why you consider that evidence. I'm listening.

There are no troops in the Ukraine Yet. They're on the Russian side of the border. None have been deployed.

I was checking out Ryan McBeth on this recently and he has overhead pics purportedly of NoKo troops in trenches and he deduces that it's them because they are closer together in groups than the Russians would be because of their war experience. Word out is that they are not as disciplined as first thought and casualty rates are up there over 50%..... but there is no independent verification

The open-source signals people are sure there are NK troops and their track record probably exceeds any mainstream source.

Repeat them as facts? I'm simply saying that is the source of the claim is a statement by the SK Defense Ministry. Read what I wrote again. The Pentagon says it is 10000 and a Ukrainian source says it is 1500.

All the videos we have are grainy. But there are videos of troops training, videos of troops getting equipment and videos of Russians interacting with NK troops.

There is no independent verification at the moment, but there certainly isn't any evidence to suggest it is some other Asian country. I'm not sure what you are implying here.

It was what the videos purported to show. You seem to be confusing relaying the source of information with believing that information. I just told you where the videos exist man. I didn't speak to whether I believe they represent what they say they represent.

Because those are the reports? SK has remained out of the conflict with respect to direct military aid even though they have a nascent defense industry who is already breaking into the European market, which is curious enough in itself, given the involvement of the Turkish defense industry, who is at a similar state of development. Why would the SK president make a statement on North Korean involvement in Ukraine when he was in Warsaw to finalize the K2 tank deal with Poland? It's not the pattern in international relations to make meaningless statements during talks about other matters.
