If every LEO in your town started covering their faces and hiding their names everyday while working would that give you any pause?
You get pulled over and the officer is completely covered and refuses to give you his name. Cool?
Speeding tickets have the officer’s name on them. Why shouldn’t they be completely anonymous like ICE or other Federal agents? They can be harassed too, right?

Is there a group of people in said town actively trying to dox and harass not only the LEOs but their families as well? Trying to out them for the sole purpose of doing them harm?

Traffic stops are probably more dangerous, though I haven’t seen the stats.
I also haven’t seen stats on how many ICE agents have actually been doxed and harassed.

I don’t trust the government, regardless of who is in power.
I don’t like seeing local law enforcement become more militarized with their dress and equipment. I didn’t like seeing kitted up officers freely roaming through people’s homes after the Boston bombing. I don’t like seeing them show off their MRAP’s in parades. Etc, etc.

Same could be said of the right. Against masks during a global pandemic but trusting of masks for dudes cruising around in unmarked vans disappearing people.

Ironically, the Boston guy was found by a citizen, not the cops playing dress up.
The imagery from that event was as much about sending a message to the public as catching the suspect. And allowing the cops to get off on playing military dress up.
