Because it wants to dominate Eastern Europe and the Middle East.

They are a military peer;

They are communist;

Their national government is a crime syndicate in suits.

Oh and that whole destruction of the West (thats us) mantra.

How many elections do they need to interfere with?

U.S. National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster said in a speech last month to the Washington-based Jamestown Foundation that there was already evidence of Russian meddling in Mexican elections set for July. “We’ve seen that this is really a sophisticated effort to polarize democratic societies and pit communities within those societies against each other,” said McMaster in a previously unreported video clip from Dec. 15 that was posted on Twitter by a reporter with Mexican daily newspaper Reforma on Saturday.

I can think of two situations you may be referring to:

Crimea, which Obama allowed and the Crimean people wanted to be annexed, and

Obama scrapped the missile defense system with Poland which Trump subsequently reversed.

What else?

So now you want to go to war with them because they interfered in the Mexican election? Where is the proof? and why can a sovereign nation not control its own security?

I don't know if it is or not. I'm not saying we shouldn't have "diplomatic relations" with them but the old "trust but verify" should always be used when working with them.

I think Putin is still a pretty hardcore communist and employs old KGB tactics to get his way.

All you have to do is go look at the list of objectives from "The Naked Communists" to see how they have already infiltrated deep within the United States.

Depends on how the dictator or any country for that matter wants to play. Nice or a bully.
Nice you can work with.
A bully you punch in the nose occasionally.
