Together Louisiana video (15 min)

This video shows corporations getting huge property tax exemptions in LA, some up to 99.99% on property valued in the billions. I know this doesn't tell the whole story or corporations would be flocking to LA and they're not. Just wanted your thoughts. Seems TX is offering much lower exemptions but is attracting great industries, tech firms, manufacturers, etc. Just wanted your thoughts.

Seems like someone posts this video every 1-2 months

Together LA is a socialist action group. They want everyone on the government dole so I don't care what their thought are on why LA stays poor.

Corruption first of all. Louisiana and it's politicians cannot get out of their own way. Voters keep electing idiots based on family name, gender, race, and who tells a good story because he is a good ol' baw. Which leads to my next point, the populace as a whole is undereducated. Those with educations take their intellet elsewhere. Tesla doesn't need a shrimper working on their AI. Those corporations also know that the infrastructure is not here for them to operate. Top it off with a little bad race relations to stand in the way.

Why do we have to respond to this Marxist propaganda every few weeks/months on here?

We are NOT undertaxed in Louisiana.

We have a corrupt, good ole boys network on steroids, a poorly educated, low skill/unskilled workforce and a bloated, wasteful state government that should restructure itself on the Texas model, rather than its heroes Illinois, California, etc.

"Together Louisiana" is to the left of Bernie Sanders. They think an appropriate tax rate is 100%. Prove me wrong.

Phuck these socialist pigs. No more increases to student spending in La. public schools. It is too high now. Per pupil spending is being wasted and/or stolen.

How? How the frick does this video keep popping up and keep popping up and keep getting passed around as reputable?

It’s fricking not. We have a state budget larger than GA when comparing it to per person. Our state budget is bloated. We don’t have a damn revenue problem.

Also, the “state” isn’t poor. The people
Who rely on government assistance are. Do you know why? They won’t give up their free government money to get an entry level job.

LABI's response

Now LABI is obviously a biased source, but so is your original source.

So ITEP really only is an issue in about a dozen parishes. At a very minimum, ITEP could only explain why those parishes are poor.

BUT wait! It turns out those 12 ITEP parishes collect more in property and sales taxes and have a higher wage than the non-ITEP parishes!

That is not even getting into how ITEP helps even the playing field on a truly messed up, anti-business tax code.
