No. It only ignores hard-coded rules because it's been told to do that by a human.

Bzzzzzzt.

Nope. It's been told specifically NOT to do that.

This doom and gloom over AI is really tiresome. I know this time its different. No its not. Its progress.

You are right. Pessimism has replaced the optimism the right used to have.

All of the anti-AI people would have been against the PC since it allowed one person to do the job of many. The reality is that computers increased productivity, revenue, and jobs. Entirely new industries were created.

But some people can only see the negative. Too many conservatives only preach doom and gloom no matter the situation now. These people really need a new mindset. The negativity isn't healthy and only hinders advancement.

Personally, I think it would be awesome if we could use AI and robotics to allow everyone to retire at 50 with a secure income. But many conservatives will fight this because it goes against everything they have been taught. They would rather the majority work until 70 (look at how many want to increase retirement age) and hope they can survive until death without going bankrupt through medical bills and endless inflation than to have a prosperous society that takes care of all the contributors.

Their natural inclination will be to focus on the "free stuff" given to others and not the quality of life improvements for all. They would rather their loved ones have a tougher life than for someone to be given something they didn't "earn." Their POV is completely opposite from what it should be.

I focus on how something will improve the lives of people I care about. They focus on someone getting something they didn't. It's a selfish mindset.

AI and robotics open a brave new world, but many are too scared to embrace it despite technological advances proving repeatedly that they generally improve the world.

Avoid excessive AI regulation that would kneecap growth or kill innovation

This does not equal what some Republicans have been trying to sneakily do for the past year, which is essentially to outright ban any state's ability to regulate AI growth and implementation and roll back any current Federal regulations. They want this ban to stand for a decade. They aren't advocating against "excessive regulation", they want no regulation and they want to neuter states when it comes to implementing their own regulations.

Sounds like something Omnius would say.

The only reason we know JD Vances name is because hes Peter Thiels chosen one.

This has been the plan from Day 1 to have him usher in the AI age.

JD's "framing" of AI is about as meaningful as Gore's "framing" of the internet. It's going to play out how it plays out.

That is completely wrong! There's a wide range of government regulations being considered. Where we fall on that range will be critical.

A piece of software never arbitrarily executes anything. Computer programming is science, not wu. There is nothing "magical" about technology though it can seem that way to the uninitiated I suppose.

I think the issue you are neglecting is that as AI is used to write this software, and software packages become more and more enormous such that only AI can tell what is in it, it could get out of human control. It's not that humans may not control it, it's just that they won't be able to. At least in theory.
