Because it’s absurd for a country to put the onus on private businesses to verify whether someone is in our country legally or not. It’s the job of the federal government…not its citizens.

As part of a prostitution sting or an immigration raid?

Or I suppose it could be both

It might be absurd, but it's not rocket science. It should be illegal to hire an illegal.

With the amount of tech we have at our disposal there has to be a better way to verify people. Even if we have to resort to things like facial recognition tech to supplement it. It's not as if law enforcement isn't already using it for other purposes. It's probably the most benign use of that tech that I could think of.

Watched a video earlier about a roofing company owner who had 1/2 of his crew ICE arrested and all he was bitching about was now being short on labor.

No mention of a single charge against him. The system is designed to discourage those hires.

There was an OT thread a week or so back wherein a GC claimed he voted for trump to get the gangbangers out and not the illegals on his crew.

Dude should be thrown in prison asap.

That's definitely part of the problem

It's very likely the guy knew he was hiring illegals and didn't give a shite

Did you miss the thread on the Omaha ICE raid?

Perhaps if they weren’t being assaulted by leftists, they could do more work like that.

Trump lost the electoral vote for the district which includes Omaha

Couldn't you say the same thing about bars and young looking people having to prove they are twenty one? Is that also on government and not the bar owners?

I wouldn't give him a passing grade on that endeavor

People around the world are looking at us as a country that can't be trusted as a trading partner. And it's even affecting our tourism industry negatively. If you think Trump has made us a more respected country on the world stage then you have deluded yourself.

Most small business owners dont have the means to vet who is and isnt legal. They take your paperwork, send it to everify and if it passes you are hired.

This isnt complicated.

Yeah that was creep AF. Doesn't change the fact that Trump loves political theater.

Name a President who didn't? It's part of the job. Trump is no anomaly.

They've been hammering employers as of late.

Granted, that's not exactly, technically, attacking "demand". But those are the agents representing that demand.

I, personally, think it is more of a tactic than a conscious effort to go after the demand side. By that I mean, if put succinctly, "hey, let's go to this meat processing plant- there's lots of illegals there AND the dude who employed them". It's a OT-meme 'why not both?' mentality.

But if it achieves the desired result, God be with them and their zip ties.
