Same reason the DN fricking C wrote an article ripping Paul that looked like it could have been written about Obama in 08. You're all hypocrites.

This is the correct answer. See DS...no hypo!

No one on the right voted for bush anymore

So you're basically admitting that the people bashing the Dixie Chicks were completely full of shite and just mad that these entertainers didn't share their views?
Nobody with two brain cells to connect together says anything different.
I also freely admit that the sun rises in the east and water is wet.

Imagine at a Rand Paul speech in Boise, Idaho, he went off dissing the new Ed Sheeran record and called the Beatles homos.
Dixie Chicks to political
Rand Paul to music
Dixie Chicks to political
Rand Paul to music

The DC said what they said arcs time where Bush still had slot of support due to 911. Hence the backlash plus country music fans are largely conservative patriotic people.
Obamas apology tour was criticized because he made him look weak and it was feared he wouldn't have strong influence in policy from that point on. And he doesn't btw.
Rand is stating a policy that he thinks we shouldn't intervene unless it's in our national security interests and criticizes the mistakes Obama has made that caused more problems in the ME. Rand is not going to apologize to other countries for America.

You sure about that?
I'd be fine with hitting "the caliphate" with tactical nukes. Today.

Bush was still better than any of the bozos offered by the DNC.

Big difference between the two. RP is a politician and we expect this stuff from them. I am sure you can find plenty of examples of politicians on both sides doing this. The DC are entertainers and we want them to entertain us not get into politics. The backlash came from their fans who in the country music scene are proportionately more republican and definitely pro American. Good try though.

the Dixie chicks got slammed because of their timing
the backlash was ridiculous but I think what annoyed people was it was a little comment tacked on that had no place or context and seemed like a snotty little pig/airhead just saying some shite and running away...that's the perception, I didn't say it was reality.
Rand Paul is a Senator, his job is to talk politics...and I think Paul has a little too much "gamesmanship" for my taste...I have a gut instinct that he is self serving and slimy.
I prefer Ted Cruz, not that you'd think that is better

Fast forward and Rand Paul now is attacking Obama on foreign soil, but there isn't that same righteous indignation. I guess it's okay as long as those on the right agree with the criticism

He's not a singer?
Posted on 8/29/14 at 9:02 am to Draconian Sanctions
Maybe if he releases a song with excruciatingly bad vocals, and awful arrangement he'll get the same treatment.
I for one have always hated it when Pols criticize any administration while on foreign shores.
But the Dems let that horse out the barn decades ago, during the Reagan Administration, Obama doubled down on it. Just like his abuse of Executive Power that the Left in Congress has been most supportive of.
The Left destroyed the centuries old precedents, so don't expect anyone to get too excited when the tables are turned.

No. The backlash was the free market at work.
As an entertainer, you have to know your demographic. Natalie Mains pissed off her core demographic. She basically shat where she eats.

Not buying their records and boycotting their concerts is the free market at work. Threatening to fire DJ's for playing their songs is fascism.

Do you realize the difference between a music group and a politician?
