The "billions in welfare" is in response to Chinese tariffs.
Trump did not implement those.

I'm completely against these tariffs and subsidies to help fix the problem created by the tariffs.
Wait, if the tariffs made it tougher for soy products to be grown/sold here, I might have to change my mind.

Not exactly. These farmers can't be put out of business, period. This all about getting the pot right and bringing jobs back home from over seas. And Trump has got the guts to take the heat while he gets it done. Egg breaking before the omelet. The coward thing to do is ignore it for political reasons (bypassing the blame) and letting foreign workers benefit from what was American jobs.

Trump didn't allow American jobs to go overseas to the ruination of our inner cities and small town America. Which is at the bedrock of trade imbalances and America getting used by foreign countries. We keep adding to our children's and grandchildren's loss of quality of lifestyle rather than drawing a line in the sand and bringing at least some of these jobs back. We can't shine each other's shoes on borrowed money and hope to have a viable middle class.
Obama had no problem with this since it served his purpose of making everyone equal, equally poor. With a ultra rich elite ruling class. Socialism if you will.
