I'm retired military and I know that our relationship with the civilian world is always a case of "our world" and "their world" and the two will always be different worlds.
Our institution remembers the past and we know that we weren't valued until after about 1990 (gulf war).

This very same s..t is what got the russians on the edge when the germans came on their doors.
I can imagine what their "model army" would look like after their purge.
Something that would probably get spanked even from Canada, surely from Iran & co would take the beat, but hey, at least it'll be very sjw and rainbow... then when SHTF they've gotta call back the tough "extremists" guys, how great it'll be if those answered with a cool "NUTS" at that point, remembering the good ol' days.
Let the lefties feel the real oppression, that'll make them rethink a bit some of their dumb talking points, or not, who cares, I figure why theres no footage of antifa or blm in china or russia, for example.
