Russia's not so bad. Your brother took a field trip to Moscow, remember?

Do you actually believe the geo-political landscape is the same as it was in 1941?

No I don't. It's also not the same as it was in 1987. I don't think that trying to have a productive relationship with Russia is a bad thing. Frankly it is beyond me why we didn't swoop in to help them out of the post-cold war debacle. Missed a golden opportunity.

Newsflash - we have a new common enemy. Islamist terrorists who want to kill everyone who is not brown or bows to Allah.

No one is terrified. It just shows the corruption in the current White House administration.

Because our intelligence and cyber agencies found evidence that the Russians were hacking the opposing party at the same time they were speaking with Trump officials daily. Are you actually saying that if roles were reversed you wouldn't give a shite?

You people don't have an honest bone in your bodies anymore do you?

And then the IC turned over the intercepted calls of American citizens resulting from that surveillance to domestic law enforcement agencies without a warrant. That is not ok.

Nuh uh.

"The USA alone provided the Russians with 501,660 tactical wheeled and tracked vehicles, including 77,972 jeeps, 151,053 1-1/2-ton trucks, and 200,622 2-1/2-ton trucks.
The aid was vital, not only because of the sheer quantity, but because of the quality. While Soviet automotive production concentrated almost exclusively on antiquated copies of American 1930 lorry designs, the vehicles provided under Lend-Lease were modern military designs with multiple powered axles and useful cross-country capability.

In addition, 15,631 artillery guns and 131,633 sub-machine guns were supplied by the Allies to Russia."

Don't deflect. The OP's question was very straight forward and that is what I was replying to. If any of you are actually playing surprised at why people are concerned about the Russia connection then you are either a liar or a fricking idiot. Which is it?

I'm not advocating being "in bed with Russia," but we have been screwing Russia in terms of global affairs for almost two decades. Our foreign policy is the problem; not Russia's. Painting them as the bad guy in this scenario just shows how ignorant most Americans are about foreign affairs.

I disagree with this. We can have terrible foreign policy AND Russia can be a geopolitical problem.

Give shite? Sure.

But I'm not getting up in arms about a country doing everything it can to prevent the Presidency of a woman who created a disaster in their backyard, takes open policy position directly against their interests, and was abrasively hostile to them in her political campaign.

Furthermore, it's hard to get real upset when the extent of their "interference" was to expose concealed corruption and dishonesty.

True, but that's a tough argument over the last five years.

Russians hacking DNC emails and releasing to public. "The integrity of our system has been breached."

Intelligence community illegally leaking Flynn info. "We must disobey the law to protect the system."

Switch the arguments if you're on the other side.

Your central premise is that you are happy if the Russian's interfered in the election because the end-result suits your and their interests. There is really nothing further for us to discuss here if your viewpoint basically justifies treason.
Remember though...one day it may be a foreign power tanking a candidate you do support. And I suspect you will feel quite a bit differently then.

Legitimate question?

What's so bad about that?

You're cool with a Presidential campaign coordinating to defeat another with a foreign power?

Wow, you guys are really trying hard to defend Trump today.

And I'd remind you that you might want to consider the prospect of a Trump-led intelligence community doing surveillance on Democratic candidates and operatives and leaking the results to the press in the interests of transparency and preserving the republic.

Both our ideas aren't all that appealing.

I went on a tour in Russia a few years ago, and I voted for Trump. I think it is obvious that that is just one of many DIRECT connections that Trump has with Russia.
