Not arguing with these guys, but when Cuomo and media sources cite doctors suggesting this, I don't understand. Why is our apex projected to be so lengthened in comparison to other countries?

Can't let the panic die down until the government has control over every aspect of our lives.

That's when they want it to be; they've had that date on their calendars for months.

I'll give a guess. We're a geographically large country and the community spread didn't happen during the same time period everywhere and as far as we know still hasn't happened in some major population centers.

They might be modeling when there is a big convergence of different regions.

Because it is fabricated in order to keep the panic going as long as possible...

Idk

Italy and Iran haven't peaked yet.

South Korea seemed to peak at about two weeks

China too but I don't believe their numbers at all. They didn't peak, their numbers dropped off a cliff.

Because some statistician/epidemiologist said so. I don't blame them, that's what they do.

BUT the media has the right combination of intellectual bankruptcy and perverse motivation to fail to explain these models including the logic and assumptions and the various potential scenarios.

Been looking on youtube for an explanation. Nothing recent. If anyone finds something they should post on TD.

We've "flattened the curve." That's why.

Well, my hospital/surgeon just postponed my back surgery, scheduled for April 7, because they "expect" to be full of Covid patients.

Don't know where you are from but I doubt you were given that excuse and most hospitals were required to stop all elective surgeries days ago...

It’s just like fricking climate change, just keep moving the bar. How many times have you heard, “by the end of next week”....

Underpromise overdeliver

I'm guessing they think the apex will be more like 10-14 days.

Outside of the hot spots, hospitals are sitting at 30% capacity or less because they have cancelled all elective and minor surgeries. Healthcare workers at these facilities Are having hours cut waiting for the STHTF, which was supposed to be today, but now it’s NEXT week. This is bullshite.

I would agree I don't believe the Chinese numbers can be trusted at all.

Ponchatoula, North Oaks hospital. My surgeon called me personally last week to tell me I was a go, for this next surgery, (after the one I had in October). He regarded my procedure to be critical and not "elective". Had this appointment scheduled after he called, only to be told, "things have changed".

Edit; Which leads me to wonder. Since I was told the surgery needed to happen, because I could not risk more nerve damage, how is this decision made, in conflict with the doctor's diagnosis? Old college football injuries and other injuries from believing I was superman, has led to my slowly becoming paralyzed. I "went down" last June and have been fighting this shite, and now this!
