Ukraine bros are hammering the shite out of Russian refineries. Oil price is tied to the global supply which is nothing new. Then you have the pipeline hit in SA. Really doesn’t have anything to do with the straight at this point but the unforced error of attacking Iran pre mid term will continue to be the msm talking point.

Why is president x not getting us out of this quagmire yet? Well it's a fricking quagmire that our intelligence people knew was a quagmire but we went in there instead. But funnily enough, they won't like mentioning why we're in the quagmire.
Re: Ukraine war effect on oil prices:
As a result of Ukrainian strikes, 800,000 barrels of diesel per day are no longer exported, and instead Russia imports 45,000 barrels now.
The Hormuz Strait is normally handling 20-22 million barrels of crude per day. 15-20% of that would be refined to diesel, so at least 1.5 million barrels/day. The Saudi East-West Pipeline shutdown removes another 4-5 million barrels/day from the market, about 400,000 barrels of diesel.
So overall, out of a total shortage of 2.7 million barrels a day, at least 1.9 million are a direct result of Trump's policy. At least 70% of the price increase is on him.

The Hormuz Strait’s effect on diesel prices is minimal. We weren’t refining enough because the crack spread wasn’t enough to incentivize our refineries. This was years in the making.
$110 Brent crude isn’t going to last long. Diesel will remain high as long as Europe is paying.

You didn't get your fill of whining in the 100 other threads with the exact same message? What's the point of a thread that adds nothing new to the discourse? Is the 100th time you complain really that much more enjoyable than the first 50?
You guys constantly cry about Trump bloviating, but then your arguments are against his bloviations. Can you just not make the connection? Would a crayon drawing help?
If you guys could maintain just a little semblance of intellectual and emotional maturity, you might get more people on your side.

It’s crazy how bad Trump has bungled this term. His first term was great (aside from shutting the country down during Covid but that’s hind sight).

How so? I can understand this in the long range because less revenue = less investment = less future refining capability. But, with how volatile the oil market is, once these global tensions ease (and retarded euro regs are overturned), non-domestic oil production will increase and the supply will be better positioned broadly to meet the equally broad demand.
I don’t see how it would slow production in the short term, but I’m merely speaking from an economic perspective and not an industrial perspective.
