I blame it on the Irish.

March is always busy. Wars and turnarounds always start in March. I blame daylight savings time starting.

For both Iraq 1 and 2 DST started the first weekend of April. It wasn’t moved to March until 2017.

If I was the government, I wouldn’t want to start anything in the month we all file our taxes.

People might start thinking too much.

Well, the name of the month of March does come from the Roman god of war, Mars.

Hitler fricked up and didn’t invade Russia in March. It started June 22 and looked what happened. Weather plays a big role in war.

Yep and the theater. In the ME and Levant, any type of bad weather has mostly cleared out by March. In Europe both WWI and WWII started in Alate July towards the end of August because it's when the weather and conditions were best across the Northern European Plain...and also the harvests were about done.

The Season for War: In ancient Israel, the spring (around the month of March) was known as the time "when kings go forth to battle," as seen in 2 Samuel 11:1. After the winter rains, the weather improved, rivers became passable, and farming allowed soldiers to leave.
Etymology and Roman Tradition: The month name "March" comes from the Latin Martius, named after Mars, the Roman god of war. As the first month of the Roman year, it was considered the natural starting point for military campaigns

wow !!!

A serious response - and informative - well done

Probably the start of the fiscal year for Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, General Dynamics, and Northrop Grumman and they need to get their numbers up.

The whole reason the month is called March is because it is the ideal time to start marching soldiers for a military campaign. March is when the mountain passes that are typically snowed over start to thaw out. In March, the roads are dry enough for soldiers before the spring rains, turned them into muck. Military campaigns throughout history have started in March..
