April 19th is the peak date -- 2 weeks
also, AL.com just shows cases and deaths, not recoveries
why?
Alabama projected to have highest death rate, fourth most coronavirus deaths in nation
sensationalistic headlines anyone???

No one knows what will happen in the coming weeks and months of the coronavirus pandemic. Alabama has already seen more than 1,500 confirmed cases of the virus and 26 confirmed deaths.
But some estimates predict a more dire situation here, as a recent epidemiological model shows Alabama could have the highest per capita death rate in the country, and the fourth highest total death count.

It’s awful sensationalism.
I do think we in Alabama have the lowest amount of tests to give people. So as this chugs along, we’re going to have a higher mortality rate because only the sickest and most at-risk will get tested.
Something to keep in mind though is that worst case scenario is 10k deaths. That’s sad.
But 10k people dying out of 4.8 million is a mere tear drop.

Is AL jealous of LA being #1 again?

All the inbreeding over the years have created a perfect host for Kung Flu.
Kung Flu stacked! Uncle-Brother-Daddy fricked!

And that doesn't have one thing to do with how many people will live or die. Now if there was a cure, testing would be very essential.

It’s garbage.
Wife cited that article as well.
Still, 80% of people tested are negative. I feel that people aren’t talking about that fact enough.

Because media has been pushing this idea that heavily black states will be hit harder because those states leave blacks vulnerable or something

Must be due to the designated hitter.

it's worse than garbage, or even clickbait as Bucky said
it's sensationalistic manipulation
look at the sreenshot from AL.com -- CONFIRMED DEATHS, REPORTED DEATHS, TESTED, POSITIVE, WORLDWIDE DEATHS
where is the "recovered" number??? Where is the "tested negative" number?

You’re suggesting that the information should not be reported? It sounds pretty
Important.
People are capable of putting things in perspective, and they’re entitled to
Information. I realize that a lot of people on the board don’t seem to believe that.

That same projection last Sunday had Mississippi with a projected death amount of over 2,200 people. Today, they have us at around 900. Models are shite and our government leaders are making decisions based on them.

Exactly. Bullshitee should not be reported.

Because people keep referencing a crappy curve fitting model that is horribly skewed by bad or incomplete data.

You’re right, but it does allow for more alarmist news headlines when our mortality rates are reportedly higher.
