So let me see if I understand this
For 50 years I have been paying the Social Security money and now they wanna tax more of it coming back to me and hope that I don't live long enough

This may not completely fix the issue but it doesn't hurt it.
If government hadn't used the SS "Trust Fund" as a blue-light special loan for decades, it wouldn't be a problem. However, paying interest that is generally below the rate of inflation is nothing but a skimming racket.
