Awful idea. And it’s exactly what the far left wants to completely upend public sentiment against ICE

They have, when lethal force was used against them first. Think the incidents in TX.
But these knuckle-dragging milk drinkers that are swarming the detention facilities? It's more fun to watch them get their asses kicked before being arrested. Yes, some just is just going to let them right back out and they'll go right back to that facility to repeat their crimes. So just kick their asses and arrest them again.

just because there are situations where lethal force would be justified to use doesn't always mean its the best practical use in all situations where justified.
As much as they may seem to have in common, every use of deadly force scenario is different, as some guys will go to the whip much sooner than others. It doesnt always mean that some are pacifists and some are just always looking for a reason, it just means that perceptions and use of force escalations can differ.
case in point is the a-hole that recently got charged & convicted that shot the woman in the face 3x because she would not put down a pot of boiling water. In that instance, that cop stated he was in fear of her throwing boiling water on him..thats definately a possibility but in my personal opinion, that situation could have been dealt with without the woman being shot in the face. Deadly force can be the last tool used or the very first. Depends on the individual that is part of the situation...there truly is no 1 answer to this

You make a regular habit of trashing law enforcement for just about everything. I think that’s why everyone is downvoting you. You probably don’t see it that way, but you are alone in your belief.

zero need for deadly force in this example

Go try and bust a criminal out of the nearest jail and see how they react. No difference.

I recall a specific conversation you and I had where you argued for the absolute abolishment of law enforcement saying if you go back far enough in history all communities were able to enforce order without them.
Pretty sure I decided at that point we're so apart ideologically I told myself the only worthwhile way to interact with you was trolling and ridicule.
Lots of other posters likely feel the same way.

I said the founding fathers intended for us to protect ourselves. That's why they gave us the 2nd Amendment. I still stand by that. If we let the mountain militia groups handle this, the blue hair dye manufacturers would soon be out of business.

Ever heard of Kent State? I'm guessing that would be a no.
If you think those protests were significantly more peaceful than today, think again. The ROTC building was burned two days before. Here's what the Ohio governor said te day before the shootings:
"We've seen here at the city of Kent especially, probably the most vicious form of campus-oriented violence yet perpetrated by dissident groups... they make definite plans of burning, destroying, and throwing rocks at police and at the National Guard and the Highway Patrol. ...this is when we're going to use every part of the law enforcement agency of Ohio to drive them out of Kent. We are going to eradicate the problem. We're not going to treat the symptoms. ...and these people just move from one campus to the other and terrorize the community. They're worse than the brown shirts and the communist element and also the night riders and the vigilantes. They're the worst type of people that we harbor in America. Now I want to say this. They are not going to take over [the] campus. I think that we're up against the strongest, well-trained, militant, revolutionary group that has ever assembled in America."
No single incident did more to turn this country against the Vietnam War more quickly. You want to accomplish the same results and drastically turn public opinion away from your position? Just start having federal agents open fire.
Having federal agents or the National Guard open fire would be monumentally stupid, from a strategic standpoint.

Who does?
We’ve seen rocks hurled at car windows & then into cars… that’s assaulting an officer and not with a sandwich. (Which will then get dismissed by a lefty judge)
We’ve seen ICE facilities shot at but no return fire.
What will it take to allow them to defend themselves?
