Why doesn't Trump pick a MAGA athlete as his VP?

Why pick drones like Tim Scott, Kristi Noem as VP?
They're not going to add anything to his ticket.
Scott is not going to gain Black voters-Blacks hate Scott, they view him an uncle Tom.
Noem is Palin 2.0.
Why not drain swamp with outsiders--people like Curt Schilling, Tom Glavine...
Trump shouldn't pick a politician as his VP---he should go full outsider....

Glavine is at least telegenic than Schilling, the guy looks like a leader, and he can talk.
He has no baggage.
Trump picks Tim Scott---the whole freaking election becomes about race. That's the last thing I want to hear about.

With Glavine you get serious discussion---the guy is serious and is no nonsense.

Trump needs to use his VP pick to appeal to us Rich upper class suburban voters (me, pettifogger, Buckycheese, Roger, etc)

Not this time.
He needs to go outsider if his legacy is going to last into the 2030s.
He picks a Tim Scott or a Noem, it's Pence/Bush 2.0.
He needs to make a splash but choose an outsider...an athlete, a businessman, someone outside of politics for MAGA to really stick

I kind of agree with you. Pick someone that the Left and Right already naturally like but have never considered as a politician. Catch the Left off guard and give them no time to formulate an opinion. Let them be pleasantly surprised and then go through some cognitive dissonance as they find a reason to hate the person.
