It's establishment mentality. That's all it is.

Notice both of those fools have already went after Trump more than they went after Obama in 8 years.

Trump is going to upset their applecart.

They're internationalists. The president is, at least on TV, a nationalist.

No matter how hard you try to dress up their ideology using the prettiest words possible, they're still whores for globalism that supports open borders, unchecked immigration, and endless wars and nation building in 3rd world shitholes.

In terms of internationalism, where do Trump and the a McCain/Graham clan differ?

NATO?
EU?
TPP?

They don't...I saw both agree with him this week on issues. Mad they are able to think independently unlike you? Now those that do incessantly try to derail everything DJT does are pathetic...almost as much as those that incessantly condone and defend the every move of DJT, no matter how silly, petulant and/or untrue said move may be.

All true. And I would add the shallow and cowards to the mix. It is easy to get in the media limelight and little retribution (by the GOP, at least) by attacking their own. They have no principles and represent the worst in politics -- and that's saying something.

Trump called NATO, verbatim, obsolete. He then dialed it back to somewhat unnecessary. He then said they don't pull their weight. Now he grudgingly acknowledges its utility.

Graham and McCain enthusiastically support NATO as arguably the most important defense pact in history--at least for most of the postwar period.

Trump actively supports nationalist movements in Europe, which will inevitably serve to fracture the EU, which is a strategic goal of Russia and its cronies in the old Eastern Bloc. A united Europe has many a drawback, but it's better than a fractured Europe (which produced the two greatest wars in human history once upon a time).

Graham and McCain support integration and free trade between comparable partners.

Trump vehemently opposed TPP.

McCain and Graham supported TPP and called our withdrawal a "grave" mistake.

Was this question a setup?

Not at all. I don't do that.

IMO, besides trade (b/c Trump has a 30 year opinion that is public on trade) Trump is a guy with very few hard and fast principles. It seems to me that Graham and McCain would make better inroads with Trump by being his advocate. I think Trump can be persuaded pretty easily with kindness and adulation (fake or not). But if you cross him, Trump fights back. Then it sets everyone's agenda back.

Absolutely correct.

The Establishment GOP is a Globalist entity. You can't get more "eGOP" than McCain, Graham and any Bush. That's why we call it the "UniParty", right? Both Democrats and the eGOP are Globalists -- they both want the same agenda.

PS As one poster pointed out, there are times when McCain and Graham do agree, but, not often. For example, I think that they all agree on the Abortion issue. Another example with regard to Russia -- the UniParty wants a New Cold War with Russia. Trump doesn't feel constrained by the UniParty's view on that issue.

McCain and Graham have an acute case of camera addiction. The press doesn't go to 50 GOP senators to get the quote they want. McCain and Graham are their 'go to' guys from the beginning of a story. They enjoy their status. What else do they have to live for?

Because Trump is wrong at almost every turn.

He's fricking wrong 70+% of the time. He lives in a fantasyland where sick twitter burns, and reality show tv ratings are the coin of the realm. And I'm not even kidding.
