5$ coffees from megacorps helps keep them stay alert while they pretend to hate capitalism.

Yeah... my wife isn’t liberal and she goes to Starbucks all the time. Same goes for a lot of the female coworkers at my office

I don’t because it’s overpriced coffee, not because of anything to do with politics.

They love the false sense of superiority as they sip on their overpriced crummy coffees and look down on people who they think they are better than when the truth is they are just showing one example of what gullible idiots they are by paying five bucks for what they could have made for a quarter if not less at home.

I have never understood why the left adopted a coffee shop as a gathering place. Anybody know the history behind this phenomenon?
Are you not aware of cafes being social hubs for creatives for the last few hundred years?
Didn’t Starbucks basically START the free WiFi craze?

Just an interesting theory. The stars on the sides, the crown, etc. nothing that can be proven however.

That sounds right, but I don’t know offhand.

And for the record, I think Starbucks is swill. If I’m not grinding locally roasted beans at home, I’m having a cortado at a local shop

How many of you Baws roll out every morning (this may trigger some) with a 40oz Yeti Tumbler full of home brew?

That's me.

Guess you never read Jack Kerouac nor heard of the Beat Generation.

I am fairly certain that Kerouac never sought-out free WiFi.

Someone asked why Starbucks got popular. I think that free WiFi may have been a factor, back when both were new.

Was referring to coffee shops as gathering places.

That was the thought in the thread you responded to.

I thought lawyers were smarter. Not afraid to admit I was wrong.

What do you call the plastic things they pack coffee in now? They are a far cry from the #10 tin cans we grew up with... you cannot even half fill them with screws, nails, assorted bit of hardware without the damn thing splitting and spilling out. You know like real mean have done for over a century....

anyone without dozens if coffee cans and baby food jars full of stuff in the garage or shed needs to turn in his Y chromosome.

THis - they have the worst tasting coffee of any = but I don't go for the capuchin or latte crap - straight black coffee for me.

Circle K is the winner for our of home coffee - I don't have a Dunkin Donut or Community outlet near me for the past 25 years.

As usual, the lib posters are here.... defending.

It is fricking uncanny.

Any line a conservative draws, you will jump to the other side and begin defending.
