Because President Fauci and Vice President Birx put Trump in his place. Trump is even touting Neil Ferguson ‘s 2.2 million number from Imperial College.

I just contributed to Trump’s re-election campaign again yesterday. I just pissed it away. We will have mail in national ballot in November. No basketball,no baseball, golf, no college or professional football. 25% drop in gdp? 20% unemployment numbers? We are talking depression numbers.

Where are the China virus numbers coming from around the world? Governments. You believe them? I don’t. No more. And we have no press on the ground to verify what’s happening today anywhere in the world.

We are f*****d.

I suspect he got a hard promise from his people that it will peak soon and that testing and treatments will catch up to the point he can reopen the country no later than 5/1

All he did was take the current deadline and extend it two more weeks.

States will never go along with Trump. He is the enemy and our country and it’s citizens will suffer until he is removed from office, one way or the other. Just watch. It’s been happening since the escalator moment.

Because Trumps Easter deadline was dumb as dogshit and let me tell you another thing, it’s going to continue to get pushed back. The experts and states aren’t going to go along with that bs.

You're not wrong. But just in terms of this particular decision, Trump could do one of two things: what he did, or lift the federal order which would have no effect on the various individual states' existing orders.

The former is the best option under the circumstances because the other would be seen as arbitrary and stubborn, again, under these particular circumstances. Would likely cause messy confusion as well, more problem that should be avoided if at all possible. He is wisely picking and choosing his battles and IMO is consistently acting in the best interest of the people as well as the economy.

I definitely don't see this as giving in in any way whatsoever, rather I see it as adapting in the crappiest of situations and making the wisest possible decisions. A bunch of these decisions come down the least damaging choice of nothing but damaging choices.

**Plus, the states just aren't going to indefinitely extend their orders. Those governors are walking a pretty tight rope with their own folks.

Easter wasn’t a deadline. You must be a fake news reporter. Listen to what he said. He hopes that by Easter he could start to open things up. It would be wonderful if we could go to church. Yes it would be. It won’t happen. But stop lying about what trump said.

Because he lacks the political will to make the bold yet correct decision.

Not surprisingly, earlier today most people here vehemently supported not destroying society over this yet now are all on board with this change.

He and the "experts" have no idea of the forces this will unleash. By April 30 the sentiment will be screw it,either this thing has run its course, or we'll take our chances

The Easter thing was never happening. That was just some random shite he made up in a Fox interview.

You believe his decisions regarding the pandemic should be made primarily based on politics? I think he would be quick to admonish you for such an ill-advised thought process. His decisionmaking is simply more mature than "team Trump" vs "team anti-Trump".
