Trump is an energy monster.
He attracts and absorbs the energy from every corner of the media and feeds off it. The odd part is that the media can't help themselves and continue to feed him.

All political factions need a boogeyman or at least something for people to be fearful of, to unite against.

CNN's ratings are down 70% from when he was in office.

This is an easy question.
They can't quit Trump because their entire political strategy has become to personally demonize the opposition. Biden's entire campaign was nothing but an anti-Trump message, for example.
And Trump went out of his way, unnecessarily most of the time, to make himself even more unlikeable. Almost like he was trying to prove his early, "I could shoot someone in the face and still not see my poll numbers fall," statement.
They'd call anyone else on the right a racist, for example, and that person would respond as you would expect them to. They'd call Trump a racist and he'd stick his fingers in his ears, waggle them, and laugh, never even denying it (I'm not saying it was true...but he wouldn't even deny it.)
So he still gets them the most miles to the gallon, so to speak. This is an old Democrat tactic—at least as old as Reagan...I'm too young to know if they were doing it before then, but the difference is that Trump reacted to this game differently than anyone before him, which is why he still infuriates the leftist rank and file the most, which is what the strategy is all about in the first place. If you can convince your base that the opponent is evil enough, they'll vote for you no matter what idiocy is on your platform.
And this is the part that will not be popular here—The fact that Trump did so much to cause the left to hate him is also the reason he lost the election. The left uses this tactic for a reason—it works.
People here think there's no way Biden got 81 million votes, and they're right.
Biden maybe got 50 or 60 million votes.
Trump's demeanor, exaggerated by the press and the left, alienated around 20 or 30 million more Americans for the rest. Those were anti-votes against Trump.
Was there election fraud? Sure. There's always election fraud, in every election. Was this fraud worse than usual? Sure, I can buy that too.
Was there enough fraud to steal the election? I don't think so personally, but I'll even concede that point for the sake of this discussion.
It's important to note that there were 7-8 controversial states and the suspicious "found" votes totaled barely 1.2 million votes. Even if every single one of them was fraudulent, Trump still loses the popular vote by 4 million votes.
Could there have been massive fraud in the mail-in ballots?
More likely it was the fact that mail-in ballots simply inherently favor Democrats.
But I'm not trying to argue whether the election was stolen or not. My point is that if Trump hadn't been so determined to be as polarizing as possible, it wouldn't have been close enough to steal in the first place.
I get why some love Trump. Because he's the antithesis of much of the left and he's not cowed by any of them.
But I do believe that the polarization sentenced us to a Biden/Harris presidency, and God help us all for that.

It’s really amazing to me how all of y’all have the same talking points as CNN and MSNBC . The man lost money while in office and counties to lose money while in politics . Now ask yourself this question how rich did Obama , and Biden get while being in politics ? Dumbass!

Controversy is great for ratings, not for votes.
You can do better than this.

Controversy? Imagine if the Trump family had someone like Hunter Biden flying around on AF1 making billion dollar investment deals with China….lol…Ukraine anyone? Forming S Corps to avoid taxes. Controversy you say?

None of the public gives two shits about this. They want the DRAMA. That's what Trump gives. They gobble it up like it's providing them sustenance. Biden is BORING. Trump's drama is exciting because he's say outlandish shite like 'grab em by the pussy'.
