Better question is why would you even want to call a black person the n word?

This is 20yo lame mullygrubbing. Outside entertainment (rap and some movies where it’s needed to establish credibility) blacks who do use **** use it in the same contexts as anyone else. It’s common in poor/ignorant communities, in some academic settings to discuss history or esoteric socio-political evolution, or almost not at all. Certainly not in professional settings or in mixed company. They’d be fired for using it in almost any workplace. Same as our poor victims who are feel oppressed because they “can’t say it.” Larry Williams or whomever lost show in part because of the bullshite he pulled at the WHCD a couple of years back. It was completely inappropriate. And he’s a comic.

Yeah because I started a thread whining about some non-issue.

Shameful.

Who told you you can't? You're free to use the word as much as you want, just don't cry about being called a racist POS.

Yeah it sorta takes air out of the "so disrespectful and hurtful" narrative.

We need a Racist Board, where all of the RB topics can get discussed. Maybe they can print RB t shirts or something.

That'd eliminate 60% of this board.

I actually do get this one. Whites invented the word for subjugation, humiliation and belittlement. I get that the objects of same could appropriate it ironically to rob it of its power over them.

If that's your position, do you do consider black or brown people to use the term in everyday language to be a "racist POS"?

Just curious.

Black people, unique among the races, have carved out dispensations for themselves. They are essentially the children of America, held to a lesser standard, absolved of their responsibility to each other and the larger culture, and beholden only to their parents - white Progressive Democrats- who give them an allowance to keep them in line.

The rest of us have to observe the social contract.

I can tell someone "frick you" after they make a sly , clever comment and we laugh it off. I can tell someone "frick you" you at a bar and that leads to fitsicuffs

yes, it's racism that is helpful to a group

also shows why people need to question the premise that racism is always morally wrong

You think it's been robbed of its power?

It's 100 times more powerful.
