Repubs have 2 super majorities in the state. Bypass gov Honor Code and ram through whatever measures are needed to get the state moving again. Who gives a frick if he vetos legislation? Override it and press forward.

Seriously we’d all love to see repubs have the balls to use the power they currently have but there are always going to be those Repubs who can’t take a piss without bipartisan support.

Outside of the legislative process, Louisiana has one of the most powerful governorships in the country.

But do they have balls? That seems to be the big question I garner from reading posts on here.

Lol what? The GOP does not have a super majority in the State House of Representatives. JBE will have veto power. They are two votes short.

It doesn’t matter if they are two short. The rinos in this state don’t vote together anyway.

Even if they did have exactly enough votes, it wouldn't be enough. Someone always defects, usually because of district interests.

So JBE can stop the Republicans and the Republicans can stop JBE (on legislation).

Prepare for a lot of Advocate articles on how the Republicans need to learn to "compromise" aka do what the governor wants.

Several problems. JBE still will be appointing heads of DOA, LDH, LWC, LED, LDR, and DCFS. He will likely maintain the clowns he appointed for his first term, and outside of Kim Robinson at LDR... they have been awful.

Second, I would not count on the Louisiana Legislature to make a ham sandwich. It is filled with idiots. There are some very smart people in the body, but for every Franklin Foil there are three John Milkoviches.

There will be no major tax increases with a Republican majority. The cry babies on here will have you think otherwise. JBE can't do shite basically.

I'm not. I'd like to see some of the bigger screw ups from his first term corrected, like the tax increase.

But the realistic scenario for the next few years is we'll have a deadlocked situation, and from my perspective that's the ideal government.

A ton of Alario RINOs were termed out. I will give the new blood the benefit of the doubt and see if they can hold JBE in check.
