The constitution has spelled out (in plain fricking English) that this right stays with the people. Kick rocks

My reply was about the opportunity for abuse.

Everything can be abused.
The internet.
Guns.
Vehicles.
Capitalism.

Are you going to bubblewrap everything not named guns?
Are you claiming that there are zero legal restrictions on firearms due to the 2nd amendment?

You shouldn't need a judge.

Just a citation or court number (judge).
And there should be significant punishment for abuses.

What is the liberty given up on a public street?

Like being forced to be identified with a license plate?
Like being forced to purchase a private product such as auto insurance?
Like being forced to display a Vin number literally visible in a constitutionally protected private location (inside a motor vehicle)

Where is the outrage about all of these things?
Or is someone else smarter than you making you a useful idiot.

If the rights that you give up on public streets bothers you, then I suggest that you stick with private roads.

People are upset bc they got told to be upset, like most things nowadays.

Searchable LPR systems have been around for years…like over a decade however somebody somewhere got on social media and told people to be upset. Here we are.

When you put your face out in public, you are waiving your right to keep it private and being seen by anyone.

Except of course if you are voting, then you have the right not to be identified.

The abuse potential is already evident nationwide. Imagine another covid situation where the government can fine you for unnecessary travel during a pandemic. No arrest, no trial just a fine you must pay or be debanked.

It seems like there is a subset of people who have a compelling need to attach themselves onto an issue to be passionate about.

Each movement draws people from different subcultures and sometimes we see unexpected alliances. We saw that with Occupy Wall Street through the most recent No Kings demonstrations.

This one has strong elements of Defund the Police, but it also is attractive to one of the various subgroups of libertarianism. I’m calling it a subgroup because even though they may all consider themselves purists, there are still disagreements about how firmly they stand on some principles.

Heck of a lot cheaper to use a few NGOs to get "patriots" screaming about "freedom" than it is to fund lawfare.

So they get criminals and illegals to rampage the country at a bargain.

But hey if a million criminals are arrested versus the freedom of one patriot, Im siding with the patriot, let freedom ring.

I think we should remove any patrolling of police as well. You dying and need assistance, being raped and want help.....get your arse up and come to the police station.

Do away with cameras at the border dont interfere with the illegals constitutional rights.

Let freedom ring. There is a famous quote about freedom from some slave owner but I forget his name

Using them like a child flocking to candy.

Outrage over 4th amendment concerns has been around for just as long.

The exact same can be said about all of you pretending these cameras exist for the benefit of anyone but government. You didn’t care about the Patriot Act. You didn’t care about FISA.

Until Trump got on TV and told you to care. And he was right as were we back then when we warned you they would be abused.

All of your posts on this topic are the same. The recent uproar is not bc of social media. Its bc of the recent skyrocketing of the number of cameras across the country.

I disagree that flock is the same as fisa and patriot act.

Do you own a ring camera?
You can voluntarily offer that to immediate access by law enforcement.
Flock is the same.

Fearing technology because it is technology is asinine.

If your city/county does not volunteer the cameras, then that is fine.
I am for governance at the most local level.
Federalism works.

And those opposing can always claim that you get what you vote for.

Yes, like a lot of things contracted from the government.

Don’t forget the increase in documented abuse of the systems. People supporting these systems are making the exact same emotional arguments the left does.

If it saves just one life!

I do not.

I’m not fearful of technology. I’m fearful of the inevitable abuse by governments using said technology.

What’s the difference? Warrantless surveillance is still warrantless surveillance regardless of how the authorities describe it.

Are ring cameras warrantless surveillance?
ATM cameras?
Parking lot cameras?
