Are ring cameras warrantless surveillance?
ATM cameras?
Parking lot cameras?

I don’t have an issue with them as those are tools of the citizenry as much as they are for law enforcement, imo.
Intersection cameras?
School zone cameras?
DoT cameras?

How is a police body camera not warrantless surveilance?

You didn’t care about the Patriot Act.
Nobody did aside from the ACLU.

You didn’t care about FISA.
FISA was created back in the 70’s/80’s as oversight against surveillance by the federal government, not a workaround.

Hey some police abuse the system, why not get rid of them?
What about ICE and Border Patrol?
What about firemen, they infringe on my right of way when Im driving, same with ambulances.
I say again, you fellas are being played by the same ngos over and over.

No. But is that what is happening here? Because the under the Constitution we have no right of privacy out in public.
You people need to read the Chatrie v United States opinion that partially states:
“[a]n individual has a reasonable expectation of privacy in records about his cell phone’s location, and police intrude on that constitutionally protected interest when they demand the information—even though for only a limited time, and from a third-party tech company.”

You are leaning on supreme court cases?
Because they have a 180 degree rule on public streets, street cameras, and police body cameras.
Warrants are not constitutionally required for public streets.

When you put your face out in public, you are waiving your right to keep it private and being seen by anyone.
quote:so there exceptions allowed, so there can be others
Except of course if you are voting, then you have the right not to be identified.

You’re in public. You can be filmed. 1st Amendment.

Don't know your actual.background, but it's ingrained in many of our natures to feel that way.
Sure some don't care. Some don't agree. Etc etc. But to dismiss concerns as if people are dolts being played by others, is disingenuous and ignorant. I feel the same way towards the people who keep tossing out how being against data centers is falling for Chinese propaganda, as if we aren't smart and independent enough to have our own concerns.

I'm sure you wouldn't either, if someone started following you and your family around with a camera. Day and night the moment you stepped out of your home.

I say again, at the end of the day, if all cameras are removed what happens.
No one watches you take your kid to ball practice.
A few rogue cops cant track their ex wife.
A handful of wildly overblown cases about files not being updated and someone briefly detained.
All great...................and a million crimes go unsolved.
Now ask yourself who wins there? They are using conservatives own values to accomplish their evil deeds for them by restricting law enforcement.
And some of the same people against flocking are vehemently opposed to defunding police. Think about that, how convoluted the thinking is.

Like the local news?
National News?
International News?
Your cell phone company?
Your cell phone apps?
Local street police?

Uhhhhh.....the entire justice system in this country leans on them. And the entire local, state, and federal government is limited by them.
quote:
Because they have a 180 degree rule on public streets, street cameras, and police body cameras.
And you cannot do a nationwide search and/or track individuals continuously with street cameras and body cams.

Warrants are not constitutionally required for public streets.
So what is the argument against cell phone tracking data while in public.
The camera view of public isn't the issue. It's a database search and continuous tracking search, by government officials, any time they desire, that's the issue.
Make the flock information require a warrant and have a dedicated systems in place to prevent abuse and that's more agreeable. Right?
And if there is no expectation of privacy... why can't we get access to it? The public?

It doesn't matter what minimal excitement of my life is being recorded vs what police can use. It's still imo not appropriate to give the govt access to every piece of our lives.
Americans of 50+ yrs ago would be astonished and embarrassed of what we've turned into. Not sure if that means anything to you as you may not be a generational American, but most who are willing understand that.
