Too many reasons to list. As another poster said, I am for flock cameras watching our elected representatives. Since we pay their salaries, we should have access to watching them as they work for us. Nothing illegal about that.

Will you give me control of those cameras?
No. I won't give anything.
But I might sell some data if the price is right.

Besides the ones that are mounted in parking lots, like Lowe's, Home Depot and Walmarts. Most of them are mounted in servitudes which are public property. How does a privately owned company get allowed to install items in servitudes?

If it's a public right of way the gov that owns it can give permission.
If it is a utility easement, the utility might give permission (or sell you permission).

Because of the potential for misuse.

It's amazing that our Founding Fathers had the foresight to draft legislation to protect against such invasion of privacy from the government.
Yet 200+ years later we have mouth breathers asking "Wtf do Flock Cameras even do to make everyone melt down about?".
Idiocracy on display

Is it constitutional to use private companies to go around the constitution?
No. But is that what is happening here?
Because the under the Constitution we have no right of privacy out in public.

Imagine an even harder lockdown than we had with COVID and Whitmer's stasi monitoring everyone through Flock.
I was listening to a pod earlier this morning and they said a new concern is hacking and manipulating these. Imagine the state using an AI fake of a Flock vid to lock you up.

But you dont have a problem with license plates?
Vin numbers on dashboards?
Cameras at intersections and school zones?
Parking lots?
Cell phone videos in public?

If the "state" is going to make fake incriminating videos, Flock being banned isn't going to stop them in the slightest.

A person had a warrant out and was arrested and booked in jail here. Let’s say his last name is Cook. He was booked under the last name Cooks. He bonded out but the warrant must have still been active. One of those facial recognition cameras saw him walking in the FQ, matched him to the warrant ace he was re-arrested for the same charges he bonded out on. Because if the name discrepancy, it was a whole thing and he was in jail for a while before it got sorted out.

I certainly understand the outrage but before this became a 'thing', I recall a young woman who played sports with my daughter.
She disappeared after going down to Auburn. All they had to go on was: pings from her phone (obtained through warrant); some (private) surveillance video given to police, of her in a convenience store; the last night she was seen; and men who became suspects.
Flock was credited for tracking down the men who killed this beautiful young woman.

I don't see the difference between them, and the standard "Stalking Laws" most every State has.

Because the under the Constitution we have no right of privacy out in public.
I'm sure our Founding Fathers would lean more that we do have a right to privacy in public over those other 3.

Flock should require a judges signature to access the feeds.
Needs a paper trail and a reason.
