My hope is, in a week or two we can start to reverse course on the shut downs and quarantines. We could over come that financially.

It will be 3-4 weeks, likely. At a minimum.

got to keep this shite up for awhile so it can be justified when the numbers don't match the hype, so we can hear all about how the ridiculous overreaction saved us.

We’re doing this so the hospitals don’t get overwhelmed and we don’t have to pick and choose who lives or dies. But you already know that and are unwilling to accept it.

At what cost?

How many fewer people will die? How many people will lose their jobs/houses, etc.

Ok. I’ll put my money on they know a shite ton more than the average poster on here.

How about stop and think about the fact that there are uncertainties and a ton of unknowns with this and that make it even scarier.

"Pandemic":

China

1.4 billion people
184,000 cases of COVID-19 = 0.013% of population
7,300 deaths = 0.00052 of population

Italy

60 million
27,980 cases of COVID-19 = 0.046% of population
2,158 deaths = 0.0036% of Population

50-75% that get the virus have no symptoms so are not counted in the official number so get the cases could be hire BUT that means the death rate is WAY lower than what is being reported..

Get your numbers out of here! This is the goddamn apocalypse we're dealing with! How do you expect me to act like an idiot and panic when the actual numbers are 500,000x less than the predicted numbers?!?!?!

I feel like I am watching my country slowly commit economic suicide. It is the equivalent of having a wart on your hand and cutting off your entire arm.

The consequences of the shut down will be significantly worse than the worst possible cases of this disease.

We have just now topped 80 deaths from CONVID. While all deaths are tragic, most of these people are elderly. We average 90 deaths per day in this country from automobile accidents.

Like it or not, we don't have any real alternative.

Remove emotions and frustrations from the equation. Consider-

The media is covering this virus. It's been labeled a Pandemic, and every other nation on Earth is doing something similar to what we are doing. We know this, because we see this on the news, on social media, everywhere.

"It's mild and only affects a couple". Sounds good. Objectively, NOBODY wants to be that small percentage.
It's hayfever and cold season, a LOT of Americans are currently snotting and coughing. You go to work, you see Bob coughing and blow his nose, and "Oh shite, I wonder...", and you know what? Everyone calls in. And the market tanks just as bad, maybe worse.

All the while, CNN and the like, and the Democrat party, hammer away the point that Trump is either imcompetent in a crisis, or intentionally putting the population at risk. Even after this passes, those charges would remain. Especially if there are any deaths at all.
How are you going to stop the mainstream media from covering this? Implement governmental control of all media would be the only way to silence it, and THAT would be a disaster.

As compared to the current situation of "we maybe overreacted, but we got through this", which will be the case when it's over.

One course of action has a defensible position, the other does not.

It's because there are 45% of this country that want to live in a country like this. Where you are told where to go, what to eat, who to talk to.

There are 2 types of people in America.
Those who want to be free.
Those who want to be subjugated. Those who want to be subjugated happen to control the media. This hysteria is driven by the media and the politicians. The politicians, just so happen to be the ones who want to control you. And they are. It all devolves into personal responsibility. If you do not want to be personally responsible for your life, then you love what is going on. You see many posters on the left that are very happy about this turn of events.

This virus will not be as big of a deal as H1N1 when all is said and done. The stark contrast between the reaction to H1N1 and Wuhan Flu is insane.

To the joy of the globalists everywhere. We elected Trump to not be controlled by the whims of the globalist cabal. All it took was the flu to destroy all headway.

There are people here and elsewhere who are clearly panicking and overreacting who definitely need to unplug and social media distance.

If the media’s hate for him wasn’t so in your face, these thoughts probably would not be.

Just like the way the Dems tried everything to get him.

How do you know that? Any facts or evidence? Any education?

The shutdowns have already drained billions from the economy from the cancellation of the NCAA and NBA alone. And there are only 80 deaths and less than 4500 cases in the US. There are the facts. Where's your evidence that cancelling these events will be a net positive? And please don't cite ridiculous estimates. Post some hard facts.
