Why does Bernie have multiple houses?

Why does he drive 100k sports cars?

Seems pretty hypocritical of him to own these kind of luxuries when there are starving children being locked in cages.

If I walked up to Bernie and asked for $100 would he give it to me?

Are you going to cap losses too? Are you going to refund pharma companies for failed drugs? Are you going to limit their legal liabilities?

There’s a isht ton of risk in pharmaceuticals. if you cap the profit you’d better be prepare to cap the risk too.

the, "if you believe in socialism you aren't allowed to have anything nice" sentiment is right there next to the, "if you have a problem with greed or corruption, you're just jealous" in the pantheon of bad-faith arguments

my guess would be it stems from the fact that you just fundamentally do not understand my point either. not sure if you can't understand it or don't want to. I guess it doesn't matter/

Why do I get the feeling that if public libraries and public schooling didn't already exist today, they would be seen as some far left radical socialist idea? (i.e. 'Why should we have to pay for someone else's kid to have an education or read books!?') We already live in a socialist society in many respects, and it has only worked towards the betterment of society.

Because, in practice, libraries have become sanctuaries for homeless perverts to get their fill of online porn and Narcan while a garishly dressed, mentally ill person reads to children. Meanwhile, public schools do a bad job at teaching, yet never fail to let your kids leave the premises over a socialist pet cause.

take a guess how many americans have a wealth over 5 billion? AKA the number of individual people that would be effected if we capped personal wealth at 5 billion

Again, how would you do this in the case of someone like Bezos that has the vast majority of his wealth tied up in stock shares? Would you confiscate them? So the federal government would take over Amazon? Or would they flood the market selling them? Do you know what this would do to the stock market?

Estimates of moving to a single model generally involve around a 10% increase in usage rates.
Take a moment and think about this. If demand isn’t going to increase—or only slightly—it can only mean that almost everyone wanting care already gets it.

FYI there's 105 individual people who have over $5b in net worth in this country, according to Forbes

the reason it matters to people like me is because we don't think it's right that they don't pay their fair share. I legit paid more in federal income tax last year than amazon did source

that matters to me.

State owned Healthcare
State owned education
State owned social security
State owned energy

Democratic socialism is a nice way of calling it communism.

I mean how many state owned industries does it take for us to call it what it is?

Because selling people on “Democratic Socialism” is the Communists way of playing the “just the tip” game with America.

They don't think...they feel.

They use feel economics and not real economics.

But it really isn’t. You down own multiple homes and 100k sports cars under socialism.

personally, I would storm the gates of bezos castle with the rest of the townsfolk

but realistically you could start with the 1.8b he cashed in last week and work from there.

They pay far more than their fair share. What the frick are you talking about.

“Fair share” would be a flat tax across the board. And I promise you, they are MORE than willing to accept a flat tax as that will be a tax CUT to them.

that matters to me.

What should matter to you is that half our population don’t pay taxes. Not that the ultra rich have more money than you.

I will never understand this. If a person (or conanpy) develops something life-saving... it should be valuable. Not cheap.

Your concept of economic value is flawed. Expecting things that are valuable and in demand to be cheap is silly.

Heck no. But if you had $3.00, he'd walk up to you and simply take $2.

This is just having an incomplete view of how the uber rich benefit from the infrastructure of society (this infrastructure is paid for by taxes).

They cannot obtain their insane wealth without it.
