Trump suckered them all into whining about McDonald's for 3 days instead of the shutdown.

The media cares more about Trump attacks than any citizens they claim to give a shite about.

It's just further exposure of TDS and the MSM narrative of orange man bad.

Just out of my own curiousty here

with the Government being shutdown, was this something Trump made time for in his schedule to make sure he didn't break the tradition of meeting with that national champs? I wasn't sure if the "White House" was also shut down during this time (like no tours or anything available).

Had Obama done the same thing under the same circumstances...

Hero for paying with his own money

Down to earth man of the people

Didn't bring in staff to work during shutdown...so kind

The press is a joke.

So how can Trump make it as cheap as possible? Buy hamburgers and make it a self-served meal. What a swell guy.

I think it was pretty shitty looking to order fast food, but your level concern with this is beyond what it needs to be

The article was put out by the propaganda-machine/fake news agency to get the sheople to fight among themselves (left vs right).

When everything is propaganda then nothing is propaganda. You might want to check yourself into a facility, gramps.

I would love to hear .... how fast food is now demeaning all of a sudden in the White House.
“Demeaning“ is not the word I would choose. But the menu choice WAS “odd.”

As I said on the other thread, “Good Trump“ for finding a way to host the champions during the government shutdown. But ask yourself this… If you invite a group of people into your home, do you feed them McDonald’s? I know that I do not. I prepare or cater a nice meal.

I am not familiar with the catering market in Washington DC, but in Texas one can cater a decent barbecue buffet for not much more money than that spent on the fast food provided by the White House.

Trump was making some sort of point with his menu choice, though I am uncertain what that point may have been.

He's a strange one. Claims to know the truth and that both the left and right work together under some all powerful "establishment"...

Yet is only critical about Trump and other Republicans.

It would be more amusing IMO if he did it for congressional Democrats or the press or something. Joke about the shutdown, shows Trump paying for stuff himself, and it still gives him the opportunity to troll when people scoff at fast food. After all his point was probably to get the elites to piss and moan while people at home are like "what's wrong with Wendys?"

I do wish he'd gone for something better for Clemson, though. I doubt they care and they can always say they ate big macs with POTUS, but I think the political ploy that this was could have been saved for a shittier group of visitors.

I just think it’s funny. Trump has a five star hotel just down the road that could’ve catered this, but he opted for fast food instead and made sure everyone knew he paid for it

Ya, that was my thought. Why not cater a nice meal?

I've seen multiple articles/posts saying it's what the Clemson team wanted, but I haven't seen any official comment from Clemson about it.

Again, I only ever see you critical of Trump and/or Republicans.

I've never seen you critical about a Democrat.

Obama would've been taken to task as well, just by the other side.

:snoozers: on this topic.
