bull·shite
/'bo?ol?shite/
VULGAR SLANG
noun
stupid or untrue talk or writing; nonsense.
So now you’re gonna try to redefine the word bullshite? Next you accused me of being an SJW democrat so you can go ahead and lie about that too. Then when I showed where you misunderstood what I said instead of just saying “my bad it was a misunderstanding” you continued with attacks.
You’re a sociopath

Awww, boo hoo. We lost the war so now we sit in dark corners and trying to rewrite history. If you really believe all this nonsense then go forward and speak the truth. Go to your workplaces and speak it.
*crickets*
That's what I thought.

Ya'll remember when we invaded Japan at Pearl Harbor? Good times
I remember when a Japanese navy invaded American territory just like I remember when a Union navy invaded Confederate territory.
Do you think sending troops into a foreign country's territory is not an act of war? Should we just let countries amass armies on our shore as long as they haven't fired a shot yet?

Because they were not laid out in the Cornerstone Speech. White superiority over the inferior Negro race was the basis of the civil war according to the leaders of the Confederate States of America. Don’t belief me, research it.

Everyone talks about slavery and states rights but the war was really about economic determination.
This would be my understanding as well. When folks identify "slavery: as THE cause based on state' secession documents, it seems like the historical context is lost almost altogether.
To say the South went to war over slavery, suggests that even if slavery was costing it big time, the South would have still fought for its institution.

You literally exposed your own lie in that post and every time I show a clear example of your double speak you respond like a child. Do you realize you’re on the same side as TiketheMiger here? That’s the level you’ve fallen to.

Im on the side of accurate history and Conservatives not allowing themselves to be blamed for the Democrats' lost cause.
Damn near every single one of you fighting tooth and nail to absolve the south and the confederacy hate democrats, and rightly so, but here you are defending their greatest feat of propaganda in world history.
They have convinced, to use your previous term, Black People that "the White Man" and "the Republicans" are keeping them down and responsible for the horrible legacy of slavery, when, in fact, it's THEIR gotdamn legacy.
The entire Confederate Leadership was made up of DEMOCRATS.
They got pissed off when Abraham Lincoln won a free and fair election and they seceded before he was even inaugurated.
Three weeks into his presidency they attacked the united states.
Their secession declarations proclaimed slavery as the primary issue, so according to them, the DEMOCRATS, the CW was fought over slavery.
Once they lost that war many found their way back into US Politics as, guess what, DEMOCRATS.
They assassinated Lincoln and commandeered Reconstruction, turning it not into the unifying Reconciliation Lincoln had negotiated but turned it into jim crow oppression.
Then they, the DEMOCRATS, founded the KKK and the KKKs Sister Organization the UDC, which propagandized the Confederacy around the country writing children's books praising the KKK and championing the lost cause (the South will rise again) and building monuments all over the country to Confederates, who had lost the war, not to the union soilders who won it....
Hell, I think we have more Confederate monuments than all other military monuments combined...(?)
Then Democrats opposed Civil rights until they realized they could get power from blacks as a voting block so they pulled the biggest projection propaganda project in history and blamed Republicans for all of the above and many of you conservatives are fighting for their narrative and making them right....
That's the fricking truth

quote:this right here. Winners get to write the history books. This idea you keep hearing about the north being a bunch of noble freedom fighters for slaves is so laughable
The North won so they got to make the war about something noble and right like ending slavery.

Who said that? Just curious?
The main discussion here has been the Confederacy's motivation and according to them, at the time, it was about slavery.

The US Military Installation at Fort Sumter was 100% owned and operated by the US military so no, we didn't send troops into a foreign country and by the way, not a single nation on this planet recognized the CSA as a sovereign country except the CSA...

People argue the beginnings of the civil war when the answer is in writing over and over again for all to read.
How were new states going to be admitted to the union. Free or slave.
Folks this is it. It's what started the war above all else.
The south saw it's representation shrinking compared to anti slavers if new pro slave states we're not allowed into the union.
Abe was not for this and the south gave up the union.
Then South Carolina before the south was ready rashly attacked a Federal installation giving the North a reason to invade.

I’m all for accurate history. You kind of counter this stance though by trying to paint the current Democratic Party as being responsible for everything that happened during the civil war.
This would be true of if voter bases and ideologies never change over time but they are not stagnant. Both the Republican and Democratic parties have gone through many changes since the Civil War.
My stance is neither current day Republicans or Democrats should feel any blame about what happened during the civil war. That blame goes to the people that made up the parties at the time.

Probably because states themselves cited slavery as the linchpin issue.
In 1860 they did. A generation before in the late 1820's and 1830's when the session movement started it was about predatory tariffs.
Great animosity across all of southern society was generated over the economic consequences of the tariffs that so impoverished the South and enriched the North.
