Is the bill lying? I literally quoted the bill. Are you Claiming the bill is not telling the truth about what is in the bill? Specifically what are you claiming I’m lying about? What exactly is not true about what I posted? Like many others in this thread, you’re calling me a liar while refusing to identify the lie.
You’ve decided to make those who abuse the system the victim. What this does is make good people who pay into the system resent you for being a disingenuous scumbag and give cover to those abusing the system that what they are doing is justified. You do it under the guise of compassion.
Your type of compassion leads to Americans being killed, murdered, hooked on fentanyl, and ultimately having a lower quality of life as they are burdened by debt from these parasites you protect
Keep up the charade. Good times ahead.

In order to pay for tax cuts, millions of people will lose Medicaid and and at least one million people will lose SNAP eligibility.
My personal view is that raising the standard of living for one by reducing the standard of living for another (redistribution of wealth) is just theft (redefined). A tax credit given to anyone who has not had income taken or exceeds the amount the government has taken is in the same category.
In my opinion, tax cuts are not ‘payed for’ by virtue of the fact that it only reduces the degree of theft. I have not researched if these things are going to reduced or eliminated but if they are, then it is simply stealing less from taxpayers.
My wife and I have worked hard to earn, lived within our means, and eliminated our debt. Why should exercising discipline be punished so that the lack of such be rewarded?

I didn’t even do what you’re accusing me of, but lets look at what happened in Georgia after it implemented Medicaid work requirements.
quote:
Georgia, the only state with a Medicaid work mandate, started experimenting with the requirement on July 1, 2023. As the Medicaid program’s two-year anniversary approaches, Georgia has enrolled just a fraction of those eligible, a result health policy researchers largely attribute to bureaucratic hurdles in the state’s work verification system. As of May 2025, approximately 7,500 of the nearly 250,000 eligible Georgians were enrolled, even though state statistics show 64% of that group is working.
quote:
Health care analysts and former state Medicaid officials say Georgia’s experience shows that the congressional bill, if it becomes law, would cost taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars in administrative costs as it is implemented while threatening health care for nearly 16 million people.

Pre-Big Bloated bullshite, conservatives claimed to oppose bureaucracy. Now you’re weaponizing it.

I’m not sure how old you were when you figured out that taxes are collected in the United States, but you’re surely old enough now to relocate to a country with the same values you have. Why do you choose to stay in a country that collects taxes if you view them as theft?

Not at all. People working jobs others think are inferior should have made different life choices you approve of instead of working menial jobs.
Understood.

What they want to cut is the well bodied person from living off of medicaid instead of getting their asses up and going to work, a lot of Americans treat medicare as their means of living.

quote:this had already been happening. Rural hospitals get most of their money from private insurers. Almost all hospitals lose money on Medicare and Medicaid but larger hospitals have more leverage to negotiate with private insurers. Where i live, all the smaller hospitals have been gobbled up by a medical mafia of larger ones.
Rural hospitals will be shuttered as well from this.
And lest we forget:
quote:
October 21, 2015
Obamacare Crushing Rural Hospitals
Though the administration claimed Obamacare’s Medicare cuts would be used to extend the life of the Medicare trust fund, they were actually used to pay for Obamacare’s massive new entitlements. Despite the billions of dollars Obamacare spent to try to boost health insurance enrollment, the administration continues to fall short of its coverage goals. For hundreds of rural hospitals, the Medicare cuts make it difficult to stay afloat
Obamacare reduced federal payments for the uninsured, known as Disproportionate Share Hospital payments. This money goes to hospitals with a disproportionate share of uninsured patients. Obamacare reduced these payments with the expectation that they would be less necessary once more people had insurance, especially through Medicaid expansion. The expansion has not happened like the administration expected, but the DSH payments were still cut. Many states could not bear to put more of their residents in a Medicaid program that already struggled to care for their communities’ sickest and poorest people. Other states could not have afforded to expand even if they wanted to – Medicaid expansion requires states to cover part of the bill starting in 2017, which is an enormous challenge for cash-strapped states. By taking away these hospitals’ DSH payments, Obamacare dealt another financial blow to small hospitals across the country.
