There is a strong history of homophobia in the black community (perhaps due to the stringent Protestant religious backdrop). Also there seems to be an emphasis placed on men adhering to certain stereotypes that directly oppose homosexual behavior
So I suppose it is possible that they are worried his influence will be diminished in the black community or the black community may turn against him if he were openly homosexual

I remember they were mad when we said he was a Communist - was "racist", despite most Communists being Asian or white/Latino. We were "racist" to say he was Muslim and not Christian, since most Muslims are Arabic and Asian, and most Christians are black and white... somehow this made sense to them.
Of course now, they want "Christians" but not real Christians, they're openly Communist, and Muslims are falling out of their favor because they don't like the rainbow flag nonsense...
