Janice Dean has been talking about this to anyone who would listen since early summer of last year. Her two in-laws were 2 of the deaths Andrew Cuomo was responsible for due to his policy of bringing infected patients BACK to nursing homes. All she wanted was answers why that was done and an apology— Unfortunately— until a few weeks ago—the only New Yorkers who wernt openly mocking her or calling her horrible names were conservative outlets.

People that were tracking LTC facility deaths all through last year knew that New York was lying about it's data, and that they changed their methods of counting to help cover up their mistake.
Here's your fricking "headline" from May 2020:
Your Ministry of Truth was too busy sucking his dick to actually dig and report on the fact that New York had so many deaths, yet didn't have the percentage of deaths in nursing homes like other states. When everywhere else is reporting 40% + of their deaths are in LTC, and you're down in the 20s...something's fricky.

It has been known for months that elderly that died in hospitals after leaving nursing homes were not included in that frickhead's counts. Quit pretending to be blind.

This is what you get when the majority of the media is, especially in an election year, a propaganda wing for one Party.
I read the order waaaay back when it first came out. The provision prohibiting nursing homes from excluding Covid positive patients from being admitted to nursing homes was actually underlined. This wasn't a policy that just kind of slipped through the cracks.
The Cuomo regime has not just been trying to avoid accurately reporting to the DOJ. They have been thumbing their noses at freedom of information requests from families all of this time.
In the absence of media disfunction, Cuomo would not have gotten away with this shite. As soon as that very suspicious order came out the media would have pressured the Cuomo administration to face the realities of his policy - and grandma would not have died.
