Being homeless in 2022 is a choice and also define "affordable housing". This is as stupid as the term "living wage".

Because the founding fathers never intended to take care of people cradle to grave.

You have an opportunity in this country. Take advantage of it.

I think the minimum wage should supply enough for housing at least. Especially where the rent is absorbent. Im not sure, just asking

It is a wage, what one can live on is not for me to determine. If you put in the minimum well that is what you get.

Is a minimum wage job supposed to be for a middle aged person with 3 kids?? Or a high school student just learning what it’s like having a job?

And that pathetic middle aged person in a minimum wage job is getting federal benefits. Just so you know.

Affordable guns aren’t in the Constitution.
The right to own a home (property) is in the Constitution.

However i get a free abortion with your tax money if its legal? The topic wasnt free, it was suggested AFFORDABLE, which means you still have to work and pay for said house. Just within your means

Like I said, vote Republican. Trump had everything under control, including unemployment.

The issue with affordable housing is inflation has raised rates beyond nearly anyones means. A Democrat did that.

I had a mortgage guy call me telling about all the equity in my home and I could refinance. I looked up the current rate and laughed him away. I'm locked in at 2.25% (under Trump). The current rate is creeping towards 8% now.

Brandon did ALL of that.

PS: It's not going to get better unless people elect people that stop spending.

It was never intended to be that…it was set up for entry level positions and not meant to be a life long type of wage.

Surely not JUST housing though, right? They must be able to afford food as well? And utilities for the house to function? What else?

There are debates surrounding if guns or abortion should be rights but no one is rallying to end homelessness constitutionally. Why is that? Don’t give me shite like the government doesn’t care, citizens can make the government care. Don’t give me administration vs. administration, the housing crisis includes everyone.

No one is asking the the government to buy a gun for them. You have the right to buy a gun; you've got a right to buy a house too.

Is that what Smeg did? I think he posited some alternatives for you to consider, which, again, I recommend you do.

Smeg didn't call you stupid and certainly didn't call you stupid for asking a question. Not in this thread, anyway.

I'd like to see the correlation between the decline of mental institutions and rise of homeless people.
