It's rather disturbing just how many scum bags there are out there
The medical profession has its share of scum bags. Same for law enforcement, same for construction industry, same for the hospitality industry.
You'd have to live under a rock to think that this is somehow unique to the legal profession.

Because when your arse is up against the abyss and the government or a corporation are about to put you in a coffin financially or literally, you want a mutha fukka who plays in their school yard on your side. Because you don't know the extent they can screw you and everyone and everything you love.
They are your protection....as "sleazy" and detestible as you might think they are. Because the guy or entity coming at you loves to grind you down....it's what they do whether it is the government , insurance company or other large corporations.

I think it centers around law school. By my third year, three out of four of my classmates were insufferable. I think the self-importance and egocentrism of most lawyers is spawned by the academics who train them to think they're better or smarter than everyone else. I will say though the one out of four in my class who weren't insufferable are some of the best people I know.
Then, once these lawyers begin actually practicing, many of them see people at their most vulnerable and desperate. They begin to truly believe that they're better than everyone, because many of their clients are train wrecks with serious problems.

There are no hyper intelligent lawyers. They are mostly people whose mommies and daddies wanted "professionals" as their offspring but they were not smart enough for medicine or engineering.

I'm surprised how many people still don't understand this^^^^.....the most effective way for evil to permeate and influence society is by manipulation and control of the law.
