Fortunately for me, you have no clue what you’re talking about. I posted the facts.
You demonstrated a fundamental misunderstanding of what money illusion means.
You are citing a market hedge which at best applies to only some people, and that market value is in itself affected by the inflation.
By bragging about the massive, unadjusted nominal numbers instead of the actual purchasing power, you demonstrated....money illusion.

You are so dumb. Do you know what an HSA is? The $24k in my checking account is play money. These are my accounts that are maxed every single year.
401k
HSA
Roth (via backdoor)
Rest goes into a brokerage account. Its very basic simple stuff sport.

Like I said. I realize you aren’t in the market. The fact those gains only apply to “some people” is sad. If you had a modicum of your assets in the market, inflation rates (especially below average rates) are negligible.

My purchasing power has increased. Like I said…you have no clue what you’re talking about.

Your anecdotal situation has no bearing on the populace

HSA is your next big flex?
Anyone who has ever been a W-2 employee knows what an HSA is.
Defined benefit
Defined contribution
SEP
Etc…etc…
All of those are options if you aren’t W-2. I knew you were maxed at $24,500…

Perfect. Then you have enjoyed exponential growth of your money compared to inflation. Below average inflation should be negligible to you. Only explanation for your daily meltdown is that the 24k you tried to flex with is the entirety of your liquid assets.

Market returns are anecdotal? Holy shite.

You were talking about yourself specifically in the post I replied to
You and I both know the average to below average American isn’t “in the market”. Most people according to many reports don’t have $1000 available for emergencies

Imagine being this dumb. Even if this were true I would be better off than 70% of people who live in Louisiana. 46% of Americans don't even have a 401k. You are so god damn financially illiterate.

You are trying to use an inflation hedge to pretend the psychological distortion of nominal numbers never happened
And what you claim applies to only about the top 10% of US households because a certain amount of investment is required.
It's weird that you try to use money illusion as proof you do not suffer from money illusion.

And I posted that I understand the inflation rate would bother those people. I was responding to two separate posters that claim to be in the market and enjoying its exponential returns which increase purchasing power complaining about purchasing power under Trump.

Being better off than 70% of Louisiana has no bearing on purchasing power. You claim to be in the market. You talked about your brokerage account. If that’s true (I suspect it is not) you have enjoyed exponential returns on those monies in relation to inflation and your purchasing power has increased.
It is a very simple concept. Your inability to comprehend it means you’re probably not the correct person to call ANYONE financially illiterate.

Its getting eaten up by inflation - more specifically, Trumpflation.

The market has averaged 21% annually over the last two years. If your returns are getting eaten up by inflation, then maybe you should hire someone to do it for you.

Again. You should not be calling ANYONE financially illiterate. If you think the 288% cumulative market returns are all being eaten up by the 37.45% cumulative inflation since Trump first took office you are an absolute moron.

21% to 32% of Americans have zero emergency savings
14% to 27% of Americans live solely or almost solely on Social Security
looking at these numbers what does it tell us in a Trumpflation and Trump Price Hike environment? The people you are talking about are the few not the many. I didn't even get into credit card or debt or car payments etc.
You are beyond help.
