I feel bad for those born during or following Reagan's time. What an awesome time to be an American during RR's tenure.
I wanted to chime in here and agree with this. I graduated high school the year Reagan was inaugurated the first time and not only did we have a president who openly loved the country we also didn't have the bullshite 24/7 hateful media dragging us down. It was a wonderful time to be an American and unfortunately I don't think that's ever coming back

I did notice a few people posted who was President when their parent or grandparent was born and found it interesting.
My dad was Truman, and my great grandfather was.. I think?.. Warren Harding.
There's still people alive whose great-grandparents were born under King George III. On May 31 of this year, the last child of a Civil War veteran, Irene Triplett, died. Her dad fought for both the Confereracy AND the Union!

I did some digging on my family tree a few months back. I have some family great great great (etc) grandparents who were here before America was even a country. I thought that was cool. They lived in Ohio and Pennsylvania. I don't think they were Native American. Perhaps I should look more into that

1970. I have a very vague memory of watching Nixon board the helicopter on a black and white tv.
