I don't want them, but I don't want Mexico to win. They've claimed you decades they will get California back with out firing a shot. Looks like simply illegally immigrating there did the trick.

Maybe send the "takers" to California.

Y'all bitch about CA, but fail to take into account that most of the best things you use in daily life were invented/created there-- your iPhone, a lot of the technology that enables you to use the internet youre using right now, most of your tv shows and movies you like, etc... It's fine for you to hate or be jealous of creative types, but a lot of those same creative types have enriched your lives, whether you want to admit it or not.

I believe a far more practical and fair solution is to split CA into two states... the wackos along the coast from SF to LA, and then the normal Americans to the north and west of that strip.

LET'S MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!

Yeah, but I would have to imagine that they'd eventually change their tunes.

It's awfully expensive to actually build a liberal utopia and it's much tougher than all the virtue signaling that we see on this board.

It's not about money, fool. Your deification of money, and Ayn Rand political outlook is grotesque.

Did I insinuate that? Hell, I thought I said they would be great trading partners. Do you not agree?

I'm not for kicking them out of the USA. I'm for allowing them to leave if that is what they choose. It's called freedom.

If the deep red states in the south sent all their welfare queens and kings to Cali, that would change quickly.

SWitch to android

You think CA won't want their movies to be seen in the USA if they decided to and were allowed to go out on their own?

We'd trade with them. Water for money. Defense for money. Movies for money.

It will all work out until they have more on social programs than they can afford. Wait, I think they are almost there anyway.

Id love it

they'd cut ties, then a year or 2 would pass and key parts of Cal would split off and vote to rejoin the US.

We'd end up with some south western half of the state with rampant socialism and open borders. The population would shift and there would be many with a "frick that, takezies backzies?" approach

it would be a laughable mess

While this is true at the moment, it is a false narrative to think it would persist upon detachment from the Union.

Outside of the agriculture, the rest could be absorbed by other states.

California should be allowed to breakup if the voters want it though. It is the 6th largest economy in the world and not all are represented fairly.

1/3 of California residents are on welfare.
