Let them secede. Then send in the army and slaughter them. Have a Sherman style march to the sea. Carpet bomb the liberal cities and mine the border so that reinforcements can't get in and the communist can't get out. Cluster bombs and napalm raining from the sky. Get the battleships back out and lay waste from the sea. Don't forget bunker busters! Hit the fault lines day and night. Pound the communist bastards relentlessly and make a statement, an example to all. Declare a state of war and use the war powers to hunt down progressive trash in other states and fire up the camps. If they secede, it greenlights the rest of us to do what needs to be done.

And by population, it's just California and everybody else.
Whenever people say this stuff about California or Oregon...they mean two cities in California on the water and then they mean Portland.
