Of course it will never happen, but why not? Many libs want it to become its own country. Many conservatives say it would be good to get that many libs out. Obviously it's way more complex than that. The top half of California is very conservative and it wouldn't be fair to them. The fiscal part I believe could be absorbed over a rather quick time. Trade could be worked out rather fast I would imagine. Other than the fairness to the ones who oppose, it doesn't seem all that bad.

I really don't care tbh. Most will find a way to survive.

Just San Diego because we need that port for our fleets.

California contributes far more to the country in terms of taxes, good and innovation than the majority of flyover country.

If you get rid of California, then La Raza has won.

And America pussed out.

Might as well, go back to Alta California...have Monterey the capital again over New Mexico, Texas, Oregon and Washington and Idaho and Nevada.

That's almost half the country you just conceeded.

Keep the interior, to hell with the coast or at least the people who live on it.

Well we would own all of their patent protections if they left so jokes on them.

Many conservatives must be stupid to think it would be beneficial to lose a state that is the world's sixth largest economy by itself.

Horse trade. We'll keep our military in CA and give them protection and in turn they don't charge rent. If they do then they can finance their own military.

It's a love your neighbor thingy - with a caveat.

I think they want to split into three.

If they want out, let them go. Charge them for defense and water and be done with it.

I would love to see them get inundated with more SJWs that want to vote themselves more benefits. They wouldn't last half a century without building walls.

It's also a political anchor.

Couldn't care less. I think it's funny the Politico cartoon showed the Texas flag on the house that said, "Secede" like it's a bad thing but when it's leftie Cali, media thinks it's a good thing.

Well good then because they will need a neighbor real close to them to sell their products in order to sustain their country.

Are you willing to pay higher taxed to make up for the loss of federal tax income? The deep red states in the south are net takers from the fed. California isn't.

CA leaving would be a disaster for both CA and the USA.

Besides it will never happen. All this is is a bunch of talk from a relatively small group who are acting like a bunch of spoiled children over one single election.

If it ever really came to a real vote, the adults would prevail and CA will not secede.

I've listed the reasons why in another thread.
