Speaking from someone with Scottish lineage, more precisely Aberdeenshire, I wasn't overly impressed when visiting. The more I was around them, the more I couldn't help but think of Appalachia, and where those people originated from. Similarities and cliches abound.

The only non-white people I’ve encountered that aren’t jealous of white people are Asian.
Also, I’ve suddenly decided to move to Scotland. My original colonial ancestor came from Argyll anyway.

Same here - My ancestors came over in early-mid 1700s from Kintail. They were associated with the "Regulators" who first declared independence from England.
btw - did you know that the portion of Scotland northwest of Loch Ness was once attached to North America?

Best I can figure is my Scots-Irish-English ancestors settled in Appalachia in the early 1800s, maybe late 1700s. My first trip to Scotland was in 2008. My dad was insistent that I research our family, come back with a family tartan and artifacts, etc. i researched and tried to track it down. I didn’t have the heart to tell him we had no family tartan or shield. We were common folk. Our kind were servants to the nobility.

Don’t kid yourself. Most of the “conservatives” on this board would vote for a guy like that in a second just to prove that they’re not racist. All he would have to do is espouse a few conservative talking points while campaigning.

They're not dystopian yet and it's a great place to visit, but they're WAY more socialist than most people realize. Yeah, you get "free" healthcare, BTW, we'll take 40% of your income please, and that's just the income tax portion.
