Private? You mean my stock is now worthless?
No. It's private in the sense that its not controlled by government. Most of the oil in the world is produced by state run companies like Saudi Aramco etc

I studied martial arts under a really great Teacher, way back when. He would show me three basic moves, and then, require that I repeat them on him. I would mind freeze before #3; very damaging to my own confidence and motivation. That wise man saw my distress...and told me that such was not uncommon; and that "slow to learn...is slow to forget". Changed me for the duration. Thank you Master Kim.

That was just his way of saying "Bless your Heart"

True, te. But practical. I continued, renewed, and progressed well; but he didn't give anyone "bless your heart" Belts minus competence.

Exxon is an extremely structured company. They have written procedures and systems for every part of their jobs and continuously audit themselves to confirm compliance with all procedures. They also continuously evaluate their business lines and geographical footprint and rid themselves if the risk is too high or potential profit too low. For example, they sold all their assets in California, no longer own any gas stations (all privately owned) and sold their Chalmette refinery. That approach could serve our country well.

He was a Bandmember at University of Texas......

I am going to easily say he is a stronger pick for this than the last two SoS. He was the CEO of a massive company that is full of some of the brightest people on earth from various disciplines in business and engineering from management down to the new graduate hires.

So basically the only thing the guy knows how to do is to work for Exxon.
Good God you are stupid

As CEO of Exxon/Mobile he brings a unique world view with him to the State Department.
He has a working relationship with major players in the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia and Russia. What he lacks in a formal diplomat background he can more than compensate for by having had to deal with a variety of global players for years.
XOM stock is by far my largest financial asset and he has done a fantastic job as CEO. My only concern is that his leaving Exxon so unexpectedly might create a temporary leadership void at Exxon and might have a negative effect on XOM's price.

If we wanted to look at people for leadership positions Obama was like a bench warmer on the JV team that was made President.
Tillerson would be like an All-American with a perfect GPA being made SoS. People need to stop being so enamored with so many of these career politician jokes.
